청소년 회복탄력성과 행복감의 가설모형 검증

국문 초록

본 연구는 청소년 회복탄력성과 행복감에 영향을 미치는 외적 및 내적, 보호요인과 위험요인 간의 구조를 실증적으로 검증하기 위해 Haase(2004)의 ARM(Adolescent Resilience Model)을 적용한 구조모형분석을 실시하였다. 이를 위해 중ㆍ고등학생 청소년을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였으며, 최종 442건의 응답을 분석에 활용하였다. 연구 결과, ARM 모형검증을 위하여 설정한 전체 14개의 가설 가운데, 8개의 가설은 지지되었으며, 나머지 6개의 가설은 기각되었다. 따라서 ARM은 우리나라의 청소년들에게 부분적으로만 적용가능한 모형임을 확인하였으며, 구체적인 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 회복탄력성은 청소년 행복감에 직ㆍ간접적인 영향을 미치는 중요한 변수임이 확인되었다. 둘째, 회복탄력성에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 요인은 가족관계, 방어적 대처(회피 중심 대처), 희망인것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 신체증상, 사회적 지지, 적극적 대처(문제해결 중심 대처)는 회복탄력성에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았다. 다만, 신체증상은 방어적 대처를 매개한 경로에서, 사회적 지지는 희망을 매개한 경로에서 회복탄력성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 회복탄력성과 행복감 증진을 위한 세가지 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to test whether Adolescent Resilience Model (ARM) developed by Haase (2004) was applicable to Korean adolescent population. In order to accomplish the study purpose, a survey was conducted to middle and high school students and a total of 442 subjects participated in the survey. The results of this study indicted that 8 of the 14 hypotheses were supported and the remaining 6 hypotheses were rejected. Therefore, it was concluded that ARM is only partially applicable to Korean adolescent population. More specific results of the study were as follows. First, it was confirmed that resilience was an important variable that directly and indirectly affects the happiness of adolescents. Second, it was found that family protection, defensive coping (avoidance coping), and hope had a direct effect on resilience. Third, physical symptoms, social support, and active coping (problem-solving coping) did not directly affect resilience. Based on these results, implications for improving resilience and happiness among Korean adolescents were discussed.
