생태패러다임에 대한 영아보육교사와 유아교사의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 기후변화에 대응하기 위한 생태전환교육이 필요하다는 시대적요청 속에서 영아보육교사와 유아교사의 생태패러다임에 대한 인식 정도를 확인하고, 생태교육 관련 활동의 실행 정도 등을 파악하여 영아보육교사와 유아교사에게 필요한생태전환교육 연수에 시사점을 얻고자 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 서울, 경기, 세종, 충북 소재 유아교육기관에 근무하는 영아보육교사와 유아교사 196명을 대상으로 웹기반 설문조사를 하고, 응답을 통계적으로 분석하였다. 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영아보육교사와 유아교사는 생태패러다임 중 ‘생태위기’를 가장 강하게 동의하고 있었으며, ‘자연의 균형’과 ‘성장의 한계’순으로 동의하였다. 그러나 ‘반-인간중심주의’ 와 ‘반-인간예외주의’는 상대적으로 낮게 동의하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영아보육교사와 유아교사 간에는 생태교육 관련 활동 실행 정도의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아교사는 생태교육 관련 연수경험 여부에 따라 생태패러다임의 ‘생태위기’, ‘자연의 균형’, ‘성장의 한계’에 대한 동의 정도에 차이가 나타났다. 그러나 영아보육교사와 마찬가지로 연수경험 여부에 따른 ‘반-인간중심주의’와 ‘반-인간예외주의’ 에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 위와 같은 연구결과를 기반으로 생태전환교육 연수는 영아보육교사와 유아교사에게 깊이 내재된 인간중심주의와 인간예외주의를 자각할 수 있는 내용을 중요하게 다루어야 함을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted in response to the contemporary demand for ecological transformation education to address responding to climate change by identifying the ecological paradigm of infact and early childhood teachers. This study was carried out by surveying 196 teachers working in preschools and kindergartens through a web-based questionnaire. The responses were analyzed statistically. The major findings are as follows: First, early childhood teachers expressed the strongest agreement with the “ecological crisis” dimension within the ecological paradigm, followed by “natural balance” and “limits to growth.” However, they exhibited relatively lower agreement with “anti-anthropocentrism” and “anti-human exceptionalism.” Second, in the case of early childhood teachers (3-5 years old class), there was a difference in the degree of agreement with ‘ecological crisis,’ ‘balance of nature,’ and ‘limits to growth’ depending on their experience participating in teacher training related to ecological education. However, like the infant teachers(1-2 years old class), there was no statistically significant difference in ‘anti-anthropocentrism’ and ‘anti-human exceptionalism’ according to the training experience. Based on these research findings, ecological transformation education teacher training for early childhood teachers would be designed to focus on content that can help early childhood teachers become aware of the deeply inherent anthropocentrism and human exceptionalism in philosophies such as posthumanism and new materialism.
