교장공모제 10년 운영의 시점에서 탐색한 참여집단의 인식과 경험

국문 초록

본 연구는 교장공모제가 본격적으로 시작된 2012년 이후 지난 10여 년간 학교 현장의 인식과 실행 과정에서의 경험을 알아보고자 교장공모제 참여집단인 공모유형별 공모교장, 교사, 학부모 포커스 그룹면담을 진행하였다. 그 결과 다음 총 3개의 대주제와 11개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 1) 공모학교 시작까지, 2) 공모학교 운영의 빛과 그림자, 3) 남은 과제와 제언. 연구결과 교장공모제는 주로 학교변화 요구와 문제해결의 돌파구로 시작되고 있었으며, 특히 안정적인 맞춤형 학교 운영과 적극적인 교육활동은 가장 큰 강점으로 언급되었다. 그러나 “일 많은 힘든 학교”라는 인식과 교장공모제에 대한 부정적인 시선 또한 여전히 유지되고 있다. 교장공모제의 운영 현황을 바탕으로 남은 과제와 제언이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

This study conducted focus group interviews with principals, teachers, and parents who participated in each type of principal search to understand their perceptions and experiences with the principal recruitment system process which began in 2012. As a result, the following three major themes and 11 sub themes were identified: first, before the start of the principal recruitment system, secondly, “lights and shadows” of the principal recruitment system operating schools, and, lastly, remaining challenges and suggestions. The results showed that the principal recruitment system was mainly initiated as a breakthrough to solve school change needs and problems, and in particular, stable customized school operation and active educational activities were mentioned as the biggest strengths. However, the perception of “hard school with a lot of work” and the negative view of the principal recruitment system still remain. Based on the current status of the principal search system, remaining challenges and suggestions were discussed.
