국문 초록

인간의 이주는 인류 역사 발전의 중요한 동력이다. 역사적으로 보면 이주를 통한 문화 교류에 개방적이었을 경우, 그 지역에 거주했던 사람들은 조정과 타협을 거쳐 사회 발전을 이루어 냈다. 반대로 이주를 통한 문화 교류에 폐쇄적이었을 경우, 사회 갈등을 유발함으로써 사회 발전을 저해해 왔다. 이처럼 인간의 이주는 그것을 어떻게 받아들이냐에 따라 동전의 양면처럼 명과 암을 동시에 지니고 있다. 한편, 제주는 고립된 섬이라는 점에서 자연 환경적 폐쇄성을 지니고 있다. 하지만 그렇기에 이주라는 교류의 과정에서 보다 큰 발전을 이루어 낼 수도 있었다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 제주 이주사 중 특히 탐라개국시대부터 고려시대까지의 이주사를 유입(流入)의 관점에서 정리하였다. 그런 후, 이주사의 관점에서 초등 사회과 역사 영역 교과서를 비판적으로 분석하였다. 마지막으로, 이 과정에서 얻은 성찰이 우리의 역사교육에 줄 수 있는 함의에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 우선, 탐라개국시대의 이주는 ‘교류-연대-사회 발전’의 시각으로, 고려시대의 이주는 ‘트랜스내셔널’ 시각으로 바라볼 수 있었다. 다음으로, 교과서를 비판적으로 분석한 후, 이주사교육의 방향성을 제시하였다. 첫째, 인간 이주의 역사를 역사교육에 포함해야 한다. 둘째, 이주사교육에서 ‘교류-연대-사회 발전’ 측면을 강조해야 한다. 셋째, 이주사를 트랜스내셔널 시각(중층적 시각)으로 다루어야 한다.

영문 초록

Human migration is an important driver of human history development. Historically, when people were open to cultural exchange through migration, people who lived in the area achieved social development through mediation and compromise. Conversely, when it is closed to cultural exchange through migration, it has hindered social development by causing social conflict. In this way, human migration has light and darkness at the same time, just like both sides of a coin, depending on how it is accepted. Meanwhile, Jeju has a natural environmental closure in that it is an isolated island. However, that is why it was possible to achieve greater development in the process of the exchange of migration. In this study, the existing Jeju migration history, especially from the era of Tamna's founding to the Goryeo Dynasty, was summarized from the viewpoint of inflow. After that, textbooks in the history area of elementary social studies were critically analyzed from the perspective of migration history. Finally, we looked at the implications that the reflection obtained in this process can have for our history education. The results of the study are as follows. First of all, migration in the era of Tamna's founding could be viewed from the perspective of “exchange-solidarity-social development,” and migration in the Goryeo Dynasty could be viewed from the perspective of “transnational.” Next, after critically analyzing the textbook, the direction of migration history education was presented as follows. First, the history of human migration should be included in history education. Second, the aspect of “exchange-solidarity-social development” should be emphasized in migration history education. Third, the history of migration should be dealt with from a transnational perspective.
