국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국학술지인용색인(KCI) 등재 학술지에 발표된 논문 정보를 활용하여 학업부진에 관한 주요현안을 진단하고 문제를 방지하는 정책 제안을 하는 데 목적이 있다. 한국학술지인용색인(KCI)에서 “학업부진” 이라는 키워드를 입력 후 연구물을 수집하였다. 발표연도와 대상 학교급 등의 제한은 두지 않았다. 추출된 244 건의 논문에서 1회 이상 동시에 발생한 853개의 키워드의 동시발생성을 계산하고 이를 토대로 키워드 간의관계, 네트워크를 시각화하였다. 학교 급별로 가정, 심리, 환경의 세 가지 부분에서 중점 요인을 제안할 수 있었다. 아동, 청소년, 청년 등 연령 집단별로 나타난 주요 관련 변인을 탐색하였다. 아동 학업부진은 실패내성과집행기능(심리), 부모와의 관계(가정), 스마트폰 환경 제한(환경)이 중요한 현안으로 나타났다. 청소년 학업부진에서는 ADHD, 개인차 등 심리적 문제 현안으로 포착되었다. 청년의 학업부진은 학사경고로 대표되는 학업적실패경험(심리)과 대학문화와 생활(환경)이 주요어로 포착되었다. 아동, 청소년, 청년들의 학업부진문제에서 전연령층에서 연구자들이 주목한 사안은 “실패”와 “집행기능”이라고 요약할 수 있었다. 이러한 경향은 한국의 학업부진아 관련 문제를 장기적으로 접근하기 위해 학생들의 실패 심리를 다루는 것, 그리고 집행기능을 기르는것이 핵심 사안으로 파악됨을 의미한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the main issues related to academic underachievement and propose policies to prevent them, using information from academic journals indexed in the Korean Citation Index (KCI). The keyword “academic underachievement” was entered into the KCI to collect research sources without any restrictions on publication year or target school level. In these 244 extracted papers, the co-occurrence of 853 keywords that occurred at least once was calculated and visualized as a network of relationships between keywords. We proposed key issues in the areas of family, psychology, and environment for each school level. For children, we revealed resilience to failure and executive function (psychology), parent-child relationships (family), and limiting smartphone use (environment) as main issues regarding academic underachievement. Adolescents’ academic underachievement was related to psychological issues such as ADHD and individual differences. College students' academic underachievement was related to academic failure experiences such as academic warnings (psychology) and university culture and lifestyle (environment). The study found that the issues of “failure” and “executive function” were the main concerns for academic underachievement among students of all ages. This suggests that addressing students' psychological responses to failure and developing their executive functions are crucial issues to address academic underachievement in South Korea in the long term.
