정신건강시설 및 지역사회 재활기관 종사자의 인권의식과 태도에 관한 연구

국문 초록

연구목적 : 본 연구는 수도권의 정신의료시설과 정신재활시설에 근무하는 종사자들을 대상으로 인권의식과 태도를 살펴보고, 정신질환자의 인권보호를 위한 환경을 어떻게 인식하고 있는가를 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 2020년 6월부터 8월까지 서울, 경기, 인천 등 수도권의 정신의료기관 6개소, 정신건강복지센터 13개소, 중독 관리통합지원센터 15개소, 정신재활시설 8개소에서 종사자 415명이 작성한 인권지표 설문지를 분석하였다 . 결 과 : 남성의 인권지수가 여성보다 높았고, 연령이 증가할수록 인권지수가 높았으며, 학력이 높아질수록 인권태도지수가 높았다. 또한 인권지수는 종교에 따른 차이는 보이지 않았고, 기혼자가 비혼자 보다 높았으며, 근무기간이 길어질수록 높았고, 인권교육을 받은 경우가 높았다. 직종간 비교에서는 사회복지사와 간호사간에 차이는 보이지 않았다. 기관간 비교에서는 인권지수가 정신재활시설이 가장 높았고, 태도지수는 정신의료기관에서, 그리고 환경지수는 정신건강복지센터에서 가장 낮았다. 결 론 : 정신질환자에 대한 인권태도나 치료환경의 인지는 종사자의 인구통계학적 변인, 직종, 근무하고 있는 기관에 따라 차이를 보였다. 향후 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 정신질환자에 대한 인권의식과 태도, 환경을 개선하기 위한 대상자의 특성에 근거한 세분화된 인권 교육 과정이 개발될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives : This study aims to investigate human rights perception and emphatic attitude of the mental health professionals/staff working at the mental health institutes and community rehabilitation centers around Seoul City, Incheon City, and Gyeonggi Province, with the recognition of therapeutic milieu for the people with mental illness. Methods : The authors received and analyzed 415 Human Rights Indicator Questionaries from 6 mental hospitals, 13 community mental health centers, 15 community addiction management centers, and 8 rehabilitation centers from June to August 2020. Results : Human Rights Indicator score was higher in male, married, old age, longer working period group, and human rights ed-ucation receiving group, but no difference according to religion. Attitude indicator score was high in the higher education group. Comparison between mental health nurses and social workers showed no difference. Comparison between 4 work places showed that the total score was highest in the community rehabilitation centers. Attitude score was lowest in the mental hospitals and environment score was lowest in the community mental health centers Conclusion : Human rights attitude and recognition of the therapeutic milieu toward people with mental illness by mental health workers was different according to demographic variables, occupation, and workplace. We propose to develop a sophisti-cated human rights education program to improve the human rights attitude and environment for the people with mental illness based on the characteristics of the groups in our study.
