국문 초록

본 논문은 4차 산업혁명기의 지적-물적 자본가들의 이익에 따른 사회 재편에 대한 저항 방안을 모색하기 위해서, 핀버그가 제시하는 기술의 민주화의 기획이 어떻게 기독교 신학-철학 전통들의 계보 속에서 형성된 기술과 연관된 주요한 개념들 ― 관조와 실천, 목적과 수단, 노동, 국가와 시민 사회, 역사와 실존 ― 에 관계 맺을 수 있는지 살펴본다. 4차 산업혁명은 기술을 통한 노동력의 대체와 이윤 극대화, 실업 촉진과 저임금화를 부추긴다는 점에서 이전의 산업혁명들의 부정적 특징을 계승하면서, 그 속도와 범위와 강도는 노동 계층 시민들을 비관적인 미래로 이끈다. 핀버그가 제시하는 기술의 민주화는 기술을 사회-문화적 조건 속에서 형성된 사회적 상호 작용의 산물로 규정하며 그 발전과 활용에서 평등한 민주적 참여를 보장하고 이를 위해서 그 지배의 네트워크에서 다양한 저항의 방식들을 권장한다. 이러한 관점은 기술의 문제를 관조-실천, 목적-수단, 국가와 시민 사회에서의 노동과 소유, 착취와 소외, 그리고 역사와 실존 등, 신학적 개념들의 계보학적 흐름과 연결 지어서 수용시키고 발전할 수 있다.

영문 초록

In order to explore possible resistances to drastic social changes and chronic unemployment triggered by the interest of intellectual-industrial capitalists, this essay shows how Feenberg’s democratization of technology coheres to major theological-philosophical concepts such as theoria, praxis, labor, endsmeans, the state, civil society, history and existence in the genealogical history of theology. The so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution has followed in the footsteps of previous ones in its negative impact upon the life of workingclass citizens. The result is maximal profits for capitalists, with unemployment, and low wages for the working class. The democratization of technology, as suggested by Feenberg, defines technology as an outcome of social interactions in a socio-cultural condition and guarantees equal democratic participation in the development and usages of technology, while encouraging various strategies of resistance to the networks of domination. This viewpoint can be incorporated into various theological-philosophical concepts such as theoria/praxis, ends/ means, labor and property in the state and civil society, exploitation and alienation, culture, history, and existence, as can be perceived in the genealogical analysis of theological considerations of technology.
