고등학교 <경제 수학> 과목의 금융 분야에 대한 비판과 제언

국문 초록

본고는 2015 개정 교육과정에 의해 신규 도입된 고등학교 <경제 수학> 과목의 금융 분야 내용을 융합 교과적인 관점에서 금융감독원과 한국교육과정평가원의 2020 개정 <초ㆍ중ㆍ고 금융교육 표준안> 및 2015 개정 <사회과 교육과정>, 2015 개정 <고등학교 교양 교과 교육과정> 및 <실과(기술ㆍ가정)/정보과 교육과정>의 금융 분야 내용과 비교ㆍ분석하였다. 이를 통해 본고는 현행 고등학교 <경제 수학> 과목이 다루고 있는 금융 분야 내용의 문제점을 지적하고, 이를 극복할 수 있는 구체적인 대안을 제시하였다. 본고는 고등학교 <경제 수학>이 저축만 다루고 투자를 다루지 않아 <초ㆍ중ㆍ고 금융교육 표준안> 및 타 교과목들과의 연계성이 낮고, 연금을 다룸에 있어 개념의 혼란을 야기하고 오개념을 전달하는 문제가 있으며, 연금과 영구연금에 관한 내용이 현실성이 낮다는 점을 문제로 지적하였다. 이를 해결하기 위해, 본고는 고등학교 <경제 수학> 과목에서 연금과 영구연금 대신 주식과 채권의 가치 평가를 가르칠 것을 제안하였다. 또한, 이 경우에 주식과 채권의 가치 평가도 연금과 영구연금의 경우와 마찬가지로 등비급수와 무한등비급수의 응용으로 다루어지므로 추가적인 수학적 부담이 없으며, 이에 더해 고등학교 <경제 수학> 과목이 허용하는 범위 내에서 채권 가격의 미분을 다룰 수 있어 미분을 다루는 단원과의 교과 내 내용 연계성을 높일 수 있는 이점이 있음을 보였다.

영문 초록

In this article, we have analyzed the financial contents in high school , first introduced by 2015 Amended Curriculum, from the curricular integration perspective by comparing them with those in 2020 by Financial Supervisory Service and Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, 2015 , 2015 , and 2015 . Through such analysis, we have pointed out some limitations of the financial contents in high school and have offered an alternative for them. The limitations we have found are as follows: firstly, high school is not well integrated to and the other subjects because it only deals with savings but not investments while the others deal with both. Secondly, it confuses pensions and annuities causing misconception. Thirdly, its contents on annuities and perpetuities are not realistic. As a concrete alternative for such criticism, we have suggested that the subject should include valuation of stocks and bonds instead of annuities and perpetuities. And we have further shown that we do not need additional mathematical concepts in this case because valuation of stocks and bonds is also an application of geometric series and infinite geometric series just as that of annuities and perpetuities and that we have the additional educational benefit of enhancing integration with the differentiation chapter in the subject by differentiating bond prices with the differentiating techniques allowed in the subject.
