공간지각능력이 학습자의 감상 활동에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 미술작품을 감상하는 학습자의 시선운동에 대해 아이트래킹 기술을 활용하여 추적함으로써 공간지각능력의 차이가 학습자의 감상 활동에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 밝혀내고자 하였다. 연구참여자는 고등학교 2, 3학년 14인을 대상으로 하였으며, 연구방법은 아이트래커 기술을 활용한 양적연구방법과 감상문 및 인터뷰를 활용한 질적연구방법을 동시에 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 공간지각능력이 높은 학생들의 경우 작품을 감상할 때 공간을 표현한 시각적 단서를 찾기 위해 한 영역에 시선이 집중되는 수렴적 탐색을 하는 경향을 보였다. 둘째, 공간지각능력이 중간인 학생들의 경우 작품을 감상할 때 공간보다는 작품에 표현된 소재와 인물 등을 관찰하기 위해 다양한 영역에 시선이 이동하는 확산적 탐색을 하는 경향을 보였다. 셋째, 공간지각능력이 낮은 학생들의 경우 작품을 감상할 때 천천히 작품을 감상한 후 시선이 다시 중앙을 응시하였는데, 이는 작품의 중앙에 위치된 무게중심을 바라보는 자연스러운 경향성이 나타났음을 의미한다. 본 연구는 공간지각능력의 수준에 따른 미술 감상의 차이를 발견하였으며, 학습자의 시선운동에 대한 연구가 교육 현장에서 학습자를 이해하는 단서가 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to find out how the difference in spatial perception ability affects learners' appreciation activities. Using eye tracking technology, it tracks learners' gaze movements that appreciate art works. The study participants were 14 high school 2nd and 3rd graders, and the research method used quantitative research methods using eye tracker technology and qualitative research methods using review and interviews at the same time. First, in the case of students with high spatial perception ability, when appreciating a work, they tended to conduct a specific exploration in which their eyes were focused on one area to find visual clues expressing space. Second, in the case of students with intermediate spatial perception ability, when appreciating the work, they tended to conduct a diversive exploration in which their eyes moved to various areas to observe the materials and characters expressed in the work rather than space. Third, students with low spatial perception slowly appreciated the work and then stared at the center again, which means that there was a natural tendency to look at the center of gravity located in the center of the work. This study found a difference in art appreciation according to the level of spatial perception, and it is expected that the study of learner's gaze movement can be a clue to understand learners in the educational field.
