국문 초록

이 글은 작가 최인훈이 구상한 한반도 지하의 조선총독, 스스로를 일본건국신화(천황가의 신화적 연원)에 뿌리박은 ‘제정일치론자’로 규정하면서 패전 직후부터 ‘제국=신국’의 재래(再來)를 비밀리에 기획 중인 그 총독의 신정론(神政論)을 동시대 일본의 정치종교론과 비교한 것이다. 그런 비교의 대상은 마찬가지로 일본건국신화의 정치적 활용상태를 분석한 와츠지 테츠로의 ｢제정일치론｣과 마루야마 마사오의 ｢정사(政事)의 구조｣론이다. 최인훈의 총독과 와츠지, 그 두 제정일치론자가 근거하고 있는 ‘제사(마츠리고토)=정사(마츠리고토)’ 등식과 그것에 틈입하는 마루야마의 ‘헌상사(獻上事/마츠리고토)=정사’ 등식(상위자를 향해 봉사를 헌상해 올리는 일로서의 마츠리고토=정사), 그 두 등식 간의 관계를 재설정하는 일이 분석의 구체적 내용을 이룬다. 총독, 와츠지, 마루야마가 인식을 공유하면서도 정치적 입론의 방향성에서는 분기하고 있는 중심개념으로서 통치근거의 ‘무궁극성’을 적출하고, 그 개념을 둘러싼 그들 셋의 문제설정들·과제상황들을 상호 삼투시켜보고자 한다. 그럼으로써 i) 정치적 결정 레벨을 보장하는 정당성·정통성 레벨이 특정될 수 없는 겹겹의 신들·상급심들로의 ‘무한한 소급’ 및 항시적 소환의 체계로 구성되어 있다는 점, ii) 그런 체계 속에서 정치적 결정 레벨의 면책근거가 정초되고 있다는 점, iii) 그런 사정이 정치의식의 기저흐름을 형성하면서 경찰적/내치적 질서화과정의 반복적인 패턴과 효과로 발현한다는 점을 분석했다.

영문 초록

This article is about Choi In-hun’s viceroy(governor), that is, the governor who hid underground on the Korean Peninsula, defining himself as a ‘Theocracist’ rooted in the founding myth of Japan(the mythical origin of the emperor’s family). Specifically, the theodicy of the viceroy, who was secretly planning the second advent of the ‘empire=divine kingdom’ right after the defeat in the war, was compared with the political and religious theories of contemporary Japan. Similar to the viceroy, Watsuji Tetsuro’s “Theocracy” and Maruyama Masao’s “Structure of Political Affairs”, which analyzed the state of political use of the founding myth of Japan, are the subjects of such comparison. First, it is analyzed that the viceroy and Watsuji as Theocracist are based on the equation of ‘ancestral rites(祭祀/Matsurigoto)=political affairs(政事/Matsurigoto)’. And while examining Maruyama’s ‘an offering to a superior(獻上事/Matsurigoto)=political affairs(政事/Matsurigoto)’ equation, which critically intervenes in it, is considered. ‘the infinite’ of the basis for the rule extracted in this way is a concept shared by the viceroy, Watsuji, and Maruyama, but also a place where the direction of political awareness diverges. Re-establish the relationship of the three goals surrounding the concept. In that extension, the following three items were analyzed. i) The level of legitimacy that guarantees the level of political decision is composed of a system of ‘infinite summons’ to unspecified superiors; ii) that in such a system, grounds for immunity at the level of political decisions are being established; iii) The fact that such circumstances form the base flow of political consciousness and manifest as repetitive patterns and effects of police/domestic administrative order.
