영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the implications of an online platform-based English education service program using picture books. Twenty-three elementary school students, their parents, and eight teachers participated in the study. Various types of data, including journals, anecdotal notes, questionnaires and interviews, were collected, and the changes of students’ reading fluency, interest and confidence were analyzed. The results were as follows: First, this program had a positive influence on the students’ reading fluency in terms of oral reading speed and accuracy. It also affected students’ reading interest and confidence positively. Second, in terms of parents, the program was an opportunity for their children to shift their perception of English learning from one of stress to pleasure. In addition, it has become another option for English education that can replace private education. In terms of teachers, it has become an alternative channel for educational services using online platforms in the post corona era. It also provided opportunities to explore new teaching and learning methods and strengthen their teaching competency utilizing various digital tools. Based on the results, some educational implications were provided. (181 words)
