간재 전우의 『艮齋私稿拾遺』 소재 한시 일고

국문 초록

본고는 전우(1841～1922)의 문집 화도수정본 『간재사고습유』에 수록되어 있는 한시 작품의 내용과 표현을 분석한 것이다. 한시는 시인의 섬세하고 내밀한 정신세계의 곡절을 가장 첨예하게 드러내는 문학작품이다. 이에 그동안 검토가 이루어지지 않았던 전우의 한시 작품들을 분석하여 그의 따스한 감정을 가진 인간적 면모의 진실에 접근하고자 하였다. 『간재사고습유』는 전우의 제자인 김택술(1884～1954)이 이미 간행된 문집에 누락된 작품들을 수습하여 정리한 책이다. 『간재사고습유』에는 251제 363수의 한시 작품이 수록되어 있다. 이들 한시 작품에 대해 자신을 향하여 자아를 토로한 작품과 타인을 향하여 정서를 표출한 작품으로 구분하여, 총 10수의 내용과 표현을 분석하였다. 그 결과 학문을 좋아하였던 학자로서의 모습, 인생의 진로 선택을 고뇌하는 지식인의 형상, 나라를 잃은 백성으로서의 불우한 심정, 친구를 그리워하기도 하고 충고를 하기도 하는 우정, 제자와 자식을 인도하는 스승과 아버지로서의 모습, 죽은 아내를 그리워하며 눈물짓는 남편으로서의 모습 등등 풍부한 감정을 지닌 전우의 다양한 인간적 면모를 파악할 수 있었다. 전우는 어려서부터 작시 교육을 받아 한시 창작에 깊은 소양을 지녔으며 또한 예민한 감수성을 지닌 인물이었다. 전우는 자신의 감정과 생각을 진솔하게 표현한 한시 작품을 비교적 풍부하게 남겼다. 전우가 망국의 시기에 3천 명의 제자를 거느리는 큰 스승이 될 수 있었던 것은 결코 학문만으로는 불가능한 일이고, 풍부한 감정을 지녀 도덕과 철학과 예술을 고도로 통합한 인물이었기 때문에 가능했던 일이었다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the content and expression of classical Chinese poetry works included in 『Ganjaesago Seupyu』, a collection of literary works by Ganjae Jeon Wu(田愚, 1841～1922). Classical Chinese poetry refers to literary works that most acutely reveal the twists and turns of the poet's delicate and intimate spiritual world. Therefore, by analyzing Jeon Wu's classical Chinese poetry works, which had not been reviewed, this study tried to approach the truth of his human side with warm feelings. 『Ganjaesago Seupyu』 is a book that Kim Taek-sul(金澤述, 1884～1954), a disciple of Jeon Wu, compiled and organized the works that were missing from the precedentially published literature. 『Seupyu』 contains works of classical Chinese poetry in 363 poems with 251 themes. This study analyzed the contents and expressions of a total of 10 poems by dividing these classical Chinese poetry works into works that express the self toward oneself and works that express lyricism toward others. As a result, this study was able to grasp the various human aspects of Jeon Wu, who have rich emotions, such as an image of a scholar who loved learning, a figure of an intellectual who struggles to choose a career path in life, unfortunate feelings of a people who have lost their country, friendship that misses friends and gives advice, the appearance as a teacher and father guiding disciples and children, and the appearance of a husband who weeps over his dead wife. Jeon Wu was educated in poetry from an early age and was deeply versed in the composition of classical Chinese poetry, and he was also a person with a keen sensibility. Jeon Wu left a comparatively rich collection of classical Chinese poetry that honestly expressed his feelings and thoughts. It was by no means academic alone that Jeon Wu was able to become a teacher with 3,000 disciples during the time of national ruin, and all was possible because he was a man of rich emotions and a high degree of integration of morals, philosophy, and art.
