제조기업의 글로벌 통합원가시스템의 설계와 활용

국문 초록

최근 들어 많은 제조기업들이 글로벌 시장에서 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위해 핵심적인 경영전략 및 재무전략의 수립은 국내 모회사가, 그리고 생산 및 판매는 해외 종속회사가 담당함으로써 전체적으로는 하나의 글로벌 연결실체로서 기능하도록 하는 경영전략을 실행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전자제품을 전문으로 생산하는 제조기업의 원가시스템 개선 사례를 통해 글로벌 통합원가시스템의 방법론을 제시하고 시스템의 설계 및 구축과정에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 문제점과 해결방안을 포함하였다. 본 연구의 사례기업은 국내 모회사와 해외 종속회사와의 관계를 하나로 연결된 경제적 실체의 관점에서 파악하고, 모회사와 모든 종속회사의 공정 및 계정을 표준화하였으며, 모회사에 발생하는 글로벌 공통원가를 해외 종속회사에 합리적으로 배분할 수 있도록 원가시스템을 설계하였다. 또한 사례 기업은 글로벌 통합원가시스템을 통해 글로벌 경영관리목적에 알맞은 다양한 원가정보를 정확하고 신속하게 산출하여 원가관리에 활용하고 있다. 즉 원가 및 수익성 정보뿐만 아니라, 품질비용 및 물류비용 등의 목적별 원가, 수량차이, 환율차이, 제품배합차이 및 판매단가차이 등의 분석 정보까지도 글로벌 연결실체 수준에서 산출하여 성과평가 및 보상제도에 활용하고 있다. 또한 영업사원, 거래선, 기종, 부품, 제품군, 제품전략, 부문, 국가 등과 같이 분석단위를 다양하게 확대함으로써 다차원적인 글로벌 수익성분석도 실시하고 있으며, 이러한 정보는 제품포트폴리오의 개선전략 수립까지 활용된다. 본 연구를 통해 글로벌 통합원가시스템이 성공적으로 도입되기 위해서는 정보기술의 지속적인 개선과 각 부문의 지식을 공유할 수 있는 전사적 지원, 그리고 원가정보를 산출하고 활용할 수 있는 전문 인력의 확보가 매우 중요한 것을 알 수 있으며, 최고경영자 수준에서의 지속적인 변화관리 및 성과평가가 필요하다는 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

Recently to strengthen predominance of competition in global market, many manufacturing companies have been implementing global business strategy by which the domestic parent entity is responsible for establishing core operating and financial strategy, whereas foreign subsidiaries focus on production and sales. This study investigates the case of electronic company which has remodeled its costing system into global costing system in which costs are calculated from a perspective of one globally connected economic entity, to provide an methodological example for global costing system. It also shows a variety of problems occurring in the process of establishing the global costing system, and their solutions. The case company has considered a domestic parent company and foreign subsidiaries connected with one another within one economic entity, standardized a process of work and accounts, and designed its costing system which can make parent company's overhead cost to be reasonably distributed to foreign subsidiaries. Through global costing system, the case company is producing a diversity of cost information which is useful in global management precisely and timely, and making use of these information for cost management. Namely, the company is obtaining information such as quality and logistics cost (objective costs), volume difference, exchange rate difference, product composition difference, and sales price difference as well as information related cost and profitability from globally connected cost, and making use of these information for performance evaluation and compensation. Moreover, the case company is performing multi-dimensional global profitability analysis by expanding analysis units to sales personnel, business channel, type, parts, product group, product strategy, department and country, and is using these information to establish development strategy for product portfolios. This study shows the importance of continuous improvement in information technology, full support for shares of knowledge from the company, and having experts who can produce cost information and make use of it, as well as persistent change management and performance evaluation by top managers for successful introduction of global costing system.
