자원봉사자의 활동유효성에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 – 한국법무보호복지공단 소속 자원봉사자를 중심으로 -

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국법무복지보호공단 자원봉사자의 활동유효성에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인을 분석하여 공단자원봉사자의 활동유효성을 향상시키기 위한 실천적 제언을하는 데 그 목적으로 시작하였다. 연구결과 봉사활동에 필요한 교육을 제공받고, 이타적인 성향이 많을수록, 담당자의 지도관리, 동료봉사자와의 관계, 대상자와의 관계가 좋거나 피드백이나 보상으로인정받는 경우, 격려와 칭찬을 받을수록 자원봉사자 활용유효성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 자원봉사의 기본원칙인 무보수성을 저해하지 않고도 자원봉사자의 활동유효성에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 결과로 볼 수 있다. 이렇게 공단에서 활동하는 자원봉사자들을 위하여 지속적인 교육과 더불어 평소 자원봉사자를관리하는 입장에서 예산을 들이지 않고 자원봉사자에게 감사적 언어표현과 칭찬 및 격려 또는 봉사자의 자조모임을 통해서도 충분히 자원봉사 활동유효성에 긍정적인영향을 끼칠 것으로 보인다. 이러한 연구의 내용을 기초로 자원봉사활동의 유효성을 유지하기 위한 실천적 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자원봉사활동에 대한 보상 및 피드백 등을 구체화하는 것이 필요하다. 둘째, 현실 및 수요를 고려한 체계적인 교육프로그램이 구축되어야 한다. 셋째, 봉사자 및 보호대상자가 관계형성을 위한 장을 자주 마련해야 한다. 넷째, 자원봉사담당자의 전문성 함양 및 인식전환이 필요하다. 다섯째, 공단의 법무보호사업에 대한 대국민 홍보를 충분히 해야 한다. 결과적으로 공단의 자원봉사자 모집 및 선발하는 과정에서 법무보호대상자에 대한 관심이 충분하며 순수한 목적으로 봉사활동에 참여할 수 있는 자원봉사자를 선별해야 할 것이다. 아울러 공단의 사업수행과정에서 자원봉사자들이 중추적인 역할을하고 있으며, 활동하는 동안 보람을 찾을 수 있도록 「모집-선발-활동관리-지속적인활동-공단의 이미지 개선-자원봉사 활동인원 증가」와 같이 선순환이 되도록 해야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to make practical suggestions to improve the effectiveness of volunteer activities by analyzing various factors affecting the effectiveness of the volunteer activities of the Korea Rehabilitation Agency. As a result of the research, in the case of being provided with the necessary education for volunteer activities, supervision of the person in charge, relationship with fellow volunteers, good relationship with the subjects, or being recognized with good feedback and/or compensation, the more encouraging and praising of the volunteers may affect the effectiveness of activities of volunteers. This would be a result that it can have a positive effect on the effectiveness of volunteer activities without hindering the basic principle of volunteerism, nonpayment. For volunteers working in the Agency, in addition to continuing education and managing volunteers as usual, without budgeting, volunteers are also encouraged to express their gratitude through language, praise and encouragement, and it is expected to have a positive effect fully on volunteer activities. Based on the contents of these studies, practical suggestions for maintaining the effectiveness of volunteer activities are as follows. First, it is necessary to specify compensation and feedback for volunteer activities. Second, a systematic education program should be constructed considering reality and demand. Third, volunteers and protected people should often provide a place for the formation of relationships. Fourth, it is necessary to cultivate professionalism and change recognition of volunteer staff. Fifth, it is necessary to have the public fully informed about the Agency's legal affairs protection project. As a result, in the Agency's process of recruitment and selection of volunteers, it is necessary to select the candidates who are interested in target people of legal affairs protection and who can participate in service activities for pure purpose. In addition, volunteers play a pivotal role in the Agency's project performances, and it should be a virtuous circle such as 'Recruitment ‐ Selection ‐ Activity management ‐ Continuous activity Improvement of the image of the agency ‐ Increase in the number of volunteers' to find reward during the activity.
