국문 초록

본고는 『헤이케모노가타리』를 비롯한 일본 중세의 고전 서사를 토대로 창작된 NHK 대하드라마 <다이라노 기요모리는>라는 문화콘텐츠를 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링의 관점에서 분석하였다. 공영방송이라는 NHK 대하드라마라는 특성과 동일본 대지진이라는 국가적 재난과 경제 위기로 절망에 빠져있던 사회적 분위기에서 고전 서사를 이용하여 어떤 메시지를 발신하고자 했는지 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링을 통해 작품을 고찰했으며, 이 드라마는 ‘악인’ 표상의 기요모리가 가진 긍정적인 면을 부각시키기 위해서 오토 랑크의 영웅 신화를 드라마 전체의 기본 틀로서 도입한 것이 확인된다. 황가 혈통의 아버지에 대한 적대심, 어머니의 희생은 그가 평생을 황실의 인물과 경쟁하며 그 권위를 뛰어넘고자 하는 동기가 되었고, 어머니의 억울한 죽음은 그가 부조리한 세상을 바꾸려 노력하는 동력이 되었음을 만들어냄으로써 시청자들의 주목을 끌어내고자 하였다. 또한 니체의 정신의 세 단계 변화를 드라마 내에 도입하여 시청자들로 하여금 놀이하는 아이와 같이 몰입하여 사는 인생의 가치를 전달하고 창조하는 삶을 살도록 촉구하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 아이의 정신으로 사는 기요모리가 욕망, 혁신, 경쟁이라는 행동양상을 드러내는 것을 보여주고, 이것이 현대 정치 영웅과 시대사조와 연동되어 있음을 시사함으로써 당시 일본이 바라던 영웅상을 파악해볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This paper attempted to analyze the cultural content of NHK’s epic drama “Tairano Kiyomori Is a Dairano” based on classical Japanese narratives such as “Heike Monogatari” from the perspective of transmedia storytelling. Through transmedia storytelling, we looked at the characteristics of NHK’s epic drama and what message it tried to send using classical narratives in a social atmosphere that was in despair due to national disasters and economic crises. First of all, the drama introduced the myth of Kiyomori as a basic frame of the drama. His hostility to his father of imperial descent, his mother’s sacrifice, motivated him to transcend his authority by competing with imperial figures all his life, and his mother’s unjust death sought to draw attention from viewers by creating a dramatic story that drove him to change the absurd world. In addition, it was found that the three-step change in Nietzsche’s spirit was introduced into the drama to urge viewers to live the value of their lives and their creative lives like children playing. In addition, Kiyomori, who lives in the spirit of a child, showed behavior patterns of desire, innovation, and competition, suggesting that it was linked to modern political heroes and the trend of the times, so we could grasp the hero image that Japan was looking for at that time. NHK’s epic drama was produced with sufficient consideration of the spirit of the times and the social context.
