자유학기제를 위한 진주검무의 교육콘텐츠 연구

국문 초록

자유학기제는 교육부에서 2013년에 시범 운영학교를 지정하여 운영하였고 2016년 전국 중학교에서 실시하게 되었다. 자유학기제는 중학교 교육과정 중에서 한 학기를 학생들이 시험부담에서 벗어나 진로탐색 활동과 다양한 체험활동을 통해 자신의 꿈과 끼를 키우기 위한 것이다. 2009 교육과정에서 ‘창의적 체험활동’이 추가되어 교육에서 ‘창의’라는 코드가 부각되었지만 실질적인 창의교육이 실현되지 못하였다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 국가적 차원에서 제시한 것이 바로 ‘자유학기제’이다. 2015년 자유학기제를 실행한 학교의 경우 자유학기제가 추구하는 근본적인 취지와는 다르게 기존의 동아리 활동과 방과 후 활동에서 했던 프로그램을 자유학기제 수업으로 연장한 경우가 많았다. 자유학기제를 통해 잠재된 끼를 계발할 수 있는 교육은 바로 예술교육이며 그 중에서도 국가무형문화유산에 대한 체험과 교육이 필요하다. 국가무형문화유산은 우리 민족의 정체성과 역사성, 문화적 원형을 간직하고 있어 교육적 콘텐츠로 활용할 수 있는 다양한 요소를 제공하기 때문이다. 현재 무형문화유산에 대한 전승은 잘 이루어지고 있지만, 세대 간에 공감할 수 있는 현장성 있는 문화유산으로써 활용되지는 못했다. 무형문화유산이 과거의 유산이 되지 않기 위해서는 교육콘텐츠를 통해 현재의 유산으로 재창조 될 수 있어야 한다. 연구자는 중학교 교육현장에서 국가무형문화재 제 12호 진주검무를 가르친 경험을 바탕으로 자유학기제에 적합한 진주검무 교육콘텐츠를 제안하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The free semester system was operated by the Ministry of Education-designated test operation school in 2013, and as of 2016, this system got to be implemented at the middle schools around the country. The free semester system aims to build up one’s dream and talent through career exploration activity and diverse experience activity away from the burdens of taking an examination for one semester among the middle school curriculum. With the addition of ‘Creative Experience Activity’ to the 2009 curriculum, the code ‘Creativity’ was highlighted, but practical creative education wasn’t realized. To overcome such a limit, what was suggested at a national level was the very “Free Semester System.” In case of a school which put the free semester system into practice in 2015, unlike the fundamental purpose of this system, there were many cases where the programs, which were conducted in a club activity and after-school activity, were extended as the free semester system. The education which can serve to develop a potential talent through the free semester system is no other than arts education, and among others, the educational field stands in need of experience and education of the national intangible cultural heritages. It’s because the national intangible cultural heritages provide diverse elements which can be used as educational contents as they cherish our people’s identity, historicity and cultural prototype. At present, the transmission of intangible cultural heritages is in good progress, but they have not been properly used as cultural heritages which arouse sympathy between generations, and have the property of realism(presentness). In order for intangible cultural heritages not to be the heritages in the past, the existing cultural heritages should be recreated as the present ones through education contents. This researcher is intending to propose Jinju Sword Dance education contents which are suited for the free semester system on the basis of the experience in teaching the National Intangible Cultural Property No. 12, Jinju Sword Dance.
