웹툰 ‘빙탕후루’에 반영된 중국 고전 서사 콘텐츠

국문 초록

본 논문은 웹툰 ‘빙탕후루’를 연구 대상으로 하여 웹툰에 반영된 중국 고전 서사의 콘텐츠를 분석하였다. 중국 고전 서사인 《산해경山海經》, 《열선전列仙傳》, 당 전기(唐 傳奇)작품 <배항裴航>을 근거로 삼아 웹툰 ‘빙탕후루’에서 중국 고전 서사를 변용한 원리와 작용 원칙을 분석하였다. 웹툰 ‘빙탕후루’는 《산해경》의 요괴를 차용하여 그들에게 새롭게 성격을 부여하고 신비한 능력을 갖추게 하여 기괴한 이물(異物)이 아닌 친숙한 캐릭터로 재탄생하게 하였고, 《산해경》의 주술적 상상력을 변용하여 주인공이 낯선 요괴를 완벽하게 장악할 수 있도록 설정하였다. 또한 《열선전》의 신선의 특징을 복합적으로 변용한 인물들을 등장시킴으로, 중국 신선 서사의 색채를 더하였다. 그리고 당 전기 작품 <배항>과의 비교를 통하여 웹툰 ‘빙탕후루’는 중국 당 전기 영웅 서사와 동일한 구조를 설정함으로, 현대 독자들에게 웹툰을 통하여 중국 당대 전기 영웅 서사를 감상할 수 있게 하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 웹툰 ‘빙탕후루’는 시공간적 배경이 중국이며 중국의 신화와 신선 서사를 새롭게 스토리텔링 하였으며 도교적 사유와 중국 영웅 서사 구조를 활용하였다는 점에서 기존의 고전 서사 활용 작품과 변별점을 지닌 작품임을 고찰하였다. 나아가 웹툰 ‘빙탕후루’에 나타난 중국 고전 서사의 변용은 웹툰의 가장 큰 특징인 작가-독자 사이의 상호소통과 유관함을 분석하였다.

영문 초록

This paper analyzed the contents of Chinese classical narratives reflected in webtoon ‘Bingtanghulu’. Based on the Chinese classical narratives “Shanhaijing”, “Liexianzhuan”, and Tang Chuanqi Novel “Peihang”, this paper analyzed the principle of the transformation of the Chinese stories and how they were worked on the webtoon ‘Bingtanghulu’. The webtoon ‘Bingtanghulu’ borrowed the monsters of “Shanhaijing” to give them a new personality and have mysterious abilities, recreating them into familiar characters, not strange foreign objects, and transforming the magical imagination of “Shanhaijing” so that the main character can completely take control of unfamiliar monsters. Also, characters of the webtoon ‘Bingtanghulu’ who complexly transformed the characteristics of taoist hermit in “Liexianzhuan” exude Chinese classical taoist hermit narrative. In addition, through comparison with Tang Chuanqi Novel “Peihang”, the webtoon ‘Bingtanghulu’ sets the same structure as the Chinese Tang Chuanqi hero narrative, allowing modern readers to appreciate the Chinese Tang Chuanqi hero narrative of the age through webtoon. Through this study, the webtoon ‘Bingtanghulu’ is a work that distinguishes itself from existing classical narrative works in that it has set up a time-space background in China, newly storytelling Chinese myths and Taoist Hermit Narrative, and uses Taoist thinking and Chinese hero narrative structures. Furthermore, it is analyzed that the reproduction of the Chinese classical narrative in the webtoon ‘Bingtanghulu’ is related to mutual communication between writer and reader, which is the biggest characteristic of webtoon.
