국문 초록

이 연구는 신문 매체에 사용된 개념어에 주목하되, 특히 하나의 개념어가 다양한 접사 또는 단어들과 연쇄적으로 결합하여 더 큰 구성(構成)을 이루는 현상을 분석하여 신문이라는 특정 매체 장르의 어휘 사용 양상을 교육적 차원에서 새롭게 의미화 하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 신문 매체에 등장한 고빈도 한자 개념어의 특성과 개념어의 확대 양상을 통계적으로 처리하여 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 소수의 개념어가 다양한 어휘와 결합하여 신문 텍스트 어휘를 장악하고 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 이는 어휘 교육 내용으로서 개념어의 가치를 재확인한 것으로 특히 어휘 생성력이 높은 개념어가 문식성 향상을 위한 어휘 교육의 수월성을 높이는 데 가치가 있다는 것을 입증했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the key characteristics of the Sino-Korean conceptual words often appearing on newspapers, and to explain the trends in such words in which the meaning is refined and elaborated once combined with other words. The analysis has been carried out in two phases：the conceptual words themselves and the extended use of such words. In the first phase, the form and meta analysis and the extended analysis of conceptual words have been analyzed in discussing the extended use of these words. As a result the authors of the study were able to conclude that a small number of conceptual words, combined with numerous other words, have dominated the text vocabulary on Korean newspapers. This result reconfirms the value of conceptual words as educational content and suggests that such words, because of the likelihood of their extended use, are valuable in effective vocabulary teaching for improving literacy.
