국문장편소설의 디지털 큐레이션 방안 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 디지털 감정분석을 중심으로 국문장편소설의 큐레이션 방안의 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 국문장편소설은 방대한 분량의 중세 한국어로 이루어진 고전소설 한 유형으로, 작품성이나 소설사적 가치 등에 반하여 대중들의 접근성은 현저히 떨어지는 작품들이다. 즉 국문장편소설은 대중들과의 연결성 확보를 위한 디지털 큐레이션이 필요한 고전소설 유형이라는 것이다. 이러한 국문장편소설의 디지털 큐레이션 방안을 고찰하기 위하여 본 연구는 삼대록계 국문장편소설을 대상으로 디지털 감정분석을 수행하고, ‘작품 전체의 감정 양상’, ‘단위담별 감정 양상’, ‘인물별 발화의 감정 양상’ 등 다양한 방식으로 시각화하여 그 타당성을 검토하였다. 검토 결과 디지털 감정분석은 현재 분석 결과의 정확성이 다소 떨어지지만, 하나의 기준을 모든 국문장편소설에 적용하여 분석할 수 있고, 유형성과 경향성의 측면에서 통용될 수 있는 결과를 도출할 수 있다는 점에서 유의미하다는 것을 확인하였다. 즉 디지털 감정분석은 국문장편소설의 유형적 성격과 개성적 특징 등을 전달할 수 있는 디지털 큐레이션의 한 방안이 될 수 있는 것이다. 그리고 국문장편소설의 디지털 큐레이션을 위해서 현대어 번역과 감정 연구를 위한 공동연구 지원사업이 필요함을 제언하였는데, 이는 국문장편소설 관련 데이터의 공유와 재생산의 토대가 되고, 다시 후속 연구자들의 접근성 강화로 이어지며, 최종적으로 국문장편소설과 현대 대중들의 연결성을 강화할 것이기 때문이다. 본 연구는 삼대록계 국문장편소설만을 대상으로 논의를 진행했다는 측면에서 한계가 있다. 하지만 더 많은 국문장편소설의 현대어역 텍스트가 공공데이터로 구축되고, 감정 연구를 통한 정성적 감정 데이터가 축적된다면, 디지털 감정분석을 통한 국문장편소설의 디지털 큐레이션은 더욱 효용성을 발휘할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the curation method of Korean Full-length novels, focusing on digital sentiment analysis. Korean Full-length Novels are a type of classical novel composed of a vast amount of medieval Korean, and they are works that are significantly less accessible to the public against their artistic value and historical value. In other words, Korean Full-length Novels is a classic novel type that requires digital curation to secure connectivity with the public. In order to consider the digital curation method of Korean full-length novels, this study performed digital emotion analysis on Three-generation series novel. Based on the analysis data, the feasibility was reviewed by visualizing in various ways such as 'emotion of the whole work', 'emotion of each unit', and 'emotion of utterance by character'. As a result, digital emotion analysis identified that it can be a digital curation method that can convey the tangible and individual characteristics of Korean full-length novels. And for the digital curation of Korean Full-length Novels, it was suggested that a joint research support project for modern language translation and emotion research is needed. This is because the joint research support project will serve as a basis for sharing and reproducing data related to Korean Full-length Novels, thereby strengthening the accessibility of subsequent researchers, and consequently strengthening the connection between Korean Full-length Novels and the modern public. This study has limitations in that it only discussed Samdaerok of Korean full-length novels. However, if more Korean Full-length Novels translated texts into modern Korean are built as joint data and qualitative emotion data is accumulated through emotion research, digital curation of Korean Full-length Novels through digital emotion analysis will be even better.
