인문학 학술연구 관점에서 큐레이션의 의미와 활용

국문 초록

본고는 데이터 큐레이션, 콘텐츠 큐레이션, 디지털 큐레이션 등 다양한 큐레이션 활동의 증가와 이를 바탕으로 한 인문학 연구의 변화를 조명하고 인문학 관점에서 큐레이션의 의미와 그 활용 방향성에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 먼저 큐레이션이라는 개념의 정의와 발전에 대해 정의하고 각 주제 분야에서 큐레이션이 어떻게 활용되고 있는지 살펴보고자 하였으며 이를 바탕으로 인문학에서의 큐레이션이 어떻게 활용될 수 있을지를 분석 방법을 제안하는 관점에서 살펴보았다. 최근의 학문 연구는 텍스트를 단순하게 읽어 내려가는 것에서 더 나아가 텍스트에 기반한 데이터 및 다양한 디지털 플랫폼이나 분석기술 등을 활용해 그전과는 다른 새로운 분석 결과를 도출하는 디지털 스칼라십으로 변화하고 있으며 데이터 제공 및 서비스를 기획하고 활발한 운영을 전개하고 있다. 인문학 관점에서의 큐레이션 방법은 작품과 작품의 전체적 관계를 중심으로 하는 것과 작품 안의 텍스트를 중심으로 하는 분석으로 구분할 것을 제안한다. 작품 간의 전체적 관계를 중심으로 한 분석은 책과 책의 관계성을 분석하는 것에 기반해 있으며 하나의 문학 작품 내 텍스트를 중심으로 하는 분석은 해당 문학작품이 표현하고자 하는 맥락을 분석하는 것으로 이해할 수 있다. 전자를 관계 중심 분석, 후자를 맥락 중심 분석으로 명명할 수 있다. 인문학 관점에서 큐레이션은 많은 문학작품에서 지금까지 찾지 못했던 맥락을 재발견하는 작업이다. 이를 위해 분석 과정에서 새로운 시선을 확인하고, 결과에 따른 새로운 해석을 마무리하는 작업인 것이다. 또한 현대정보기술을 효과적으로 활용함으로써 고전과 현대를 이어주는 매개자의 역할을 강화하는 것일 수도 있을 것이다. 인문학 큐레이션은 고전문학 연구를 위한 새로운 기술과 방법의 적용, 큐레이션의 확산이 많은 독자들에게 고전과 현대를 잇는 교두보가 되고 또 다른 이야깃거리를 제공할 수 있는 기회가 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the increase in various curation activities such as data curation, content curation, and digital curation, illuminates changes in humanities research based on this, and examines the meaning of curation and its application direction from the humanities perspective. First, the definition and development of the concept of curation is defined, and how curation is used in each subject area is examined. Based on this, we looked at how curation in the humanities can be utilized from the perspective of proposing an analysis method. Recent academic research is changing from simply reading texts to digital scholarship that uses text-based data and various digital platforms or analysis technologies to derive new analysis results different from before. is being planned and actively operated. From the perspective of the humanities, it is suggested that the curation method be divided into an analysis centered on the overall relationship between the work and the work and an analysis centered on the text in the work. Analysis centered on the overall relationship between works is based on analyzing the relationship between books, and analysis centered on the text within a literary work can be understood as analyzing the context that the literary work wants to express. The former can be called relation-oriented analysis, and the latter can be called context-oriented analysis. From the humanities point of view, curation is the task of rediscovering a context that has not been found in many literary works. To this end, it is the task of confirming a new perspective in the analysis process and finalizing a new interpretation according to the results. IIn addition, it may be to strengthen the role of a mediator between the classics and the modern by effectively utilizing modern information technology. The curation of academic research in the humanities will be an opportunity to apply new techniques and methods for the study of classical literature, and the spread of curation will serve as a bridgehead between the classics and the present and provide another story to many readers.
