중학생의 영재 특성에 영향을 주는 환경적 요인 탐색

국문 초록

대학 영재교육원에서 교육을 받고 있는 중학교 1학년 학생을 대상으로 영재적 특성에 영향을 주는 요인을 찾기 위해서 가장 가까운 주변 환경인 부모의 연령, 학력 및 학생의 영재원 경험 유무의 관련성을 연구하였다. 먼저 연구 모형을 설계한 후 순천시와 여수시 중학교의 표본 학생들을 대상으로 설문을 하여 자료를 수집하였다. SPSS WIN 12.0을 사용한 일원배치분산분석을 적용하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 영재의 지적특성은 부모의 연령 및 학력에 따라 유의미한 차이를 보였고, 영재경험의 유무에도 영향을 받은 것으로 나타났다. 부모의 나이는 41세 이상 45세 사이에서 영재의 지적 특성 영향이 많게 나타났고 대학원 학위를 가진 부모의 영향이 긍정적으로 나타났다. 영재의 정의적 특성 중 완벽주의와 자기비판에서 부모의 연령 및 영재경험의 유무에서 유의미한 차이가 있었고 학습방법에서는 아버지의 학력이 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 높은 자아개념과 자기통제력, 완벽주의와 자기비판에서는 영재원 경험 유무가 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 아버지의 나이는 46세에서 50세 사이에서, 어머니의 나이는 41세와 45세 사이에서 영재의 정의적 특성에 미치는 영향이 유의미하게 나타남을 보였다. 마지막에 이 결과를 토대로 과학영재교육 현장에 도움이 되는 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This research investigated the factors that influence on the characteristics of gifted student according to the age and the educational level of their parents, and students’ learning experience in the education center in university for scientifically gifted. In the intellectual characteristics of gifted students, the students whose parents’ ages were between 41 and 45 are mainly influenced by linguistic ability, knowledge curiosity, thinking ability, creativity appearance. Especially the students whose parents had a postgraduate degree respectively were mostly influenced in terms of linguistic ability, knowledge curiosity, and creativity appearance. In the affective characteristics of gifted students, the students whose fathers’ ages were between 46 and 50 were mainly influenced on perfectionism and self-criticism whereas students whose mothers’ ages were between 41 and 45 were mostly influenced on perfectionism and self-criticism. In case fathers had postgraduate degrees, the students seemed to be mostly influenced on learning method, mothers, and learning method. At the end, we put some implications of these results that might be contributed to enhance the science gifted education.
