비대면 온라인 수업 사례 고찰: 동영상 녹화 및 실시간 화상 수업 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 2020년 3월부터 시작된 비대면 수업 상황과 관련하여 기존의 수업을 온라인 방식으로 전환하게 된 수업 사례를 탐구함으로써 온라인 수업의 질을 향상하는데 기여하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 4학년 1학기에 개설되어 운영된 ‘화학논리및논술’ 및 인공지능 교과목이다. 두 개의 수업 사례를 자기 연구 방식으로 탐구하여 서로 비교 고찰함으로써 비대면 수업의 특징과 수강생들의 인식에 대하여 분석하였다. 2020년 3월부터 6월까지 진행되었던 ‘화학논리및논술’(동영상 및 실시간 화상 회의 혼합 방식)과 인공지능(실시간 화상 회의 방식) 교과목에 참여한 수강생은 각 8명과 20명이다. 그들은 종강 무렵에 비대면 수업에 대한 설문에 참여하였고 성찰노트를 제출하였다. 연구자는 사례 연구 방법을 차용하여 설문지와 성찰 노트의 내용을 분석하였으며 동영상 녹화 기반 수업과 실시간 쌍방향 화상수업의 자료를 참고하였다. 두 개의 수업 사례에 대하여 교과목 소개, 비대면 수업 설계 및 자료 준비, 비대면 수업 진행, 비대면 수업 방식의 특징, 비대면 수업에 대한 수강생의 인식 결과를 각각 제시하였다. 두 개의 사례를 비교 고찰한 결과 ‘화학논리및논술’ 교과목의 경우에 수업 자료의 체계성 증가, 학습 결과물 처리의 체계성 증가, 학습의 효율 증가, 학습 자료 관리의 편리성 증가 등의 장점이 나타났으며 학습자 이해 측면의 어려움, 자기주도적 학습 능력이 부족한 학습자의 낮은 학습 효율 등의 단점이 드러났다. 실시간 화상으로 진행된 인공지능 수업은 화면 공유를 통한 학습 자료의 제시, 코딩 과제 수행과 발표를 통한 컴퓨팅 사고의 함양 등에 긍정적인 반응을 보여주었고 비대면 수업보다 상호작용과 학습자 수준에 부합되는 개인별 학습 등의 측면에서 한계를 드러내었다. 마지막에 비대면 수업연구 현장에 대한 시사점과 제언을 덧붙였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of online courses delivered as the mode of non-face-to-face class situation during the spring semester in 2020. The subject courses were ‘Chemistry Logic and Essay’ and Artificial Intelligence targeted at the junior or senior students. The number of participating students were 8 and 20 students in ‘Chemistry Logic and Essay’ (mixed video and video conference) and Artificial Intelligence (video conference class), respectively. They filled out questionnaires about their perception on taking non-face-to-face courses and also submitted reflection notes at the end of the semester. The characteristics of the non-face-to-face class and the students’ perception were analyzed and compared with each other. By adopting a case study method, we obtained the following results. For the course of ‘Chemistry Logic and Essay’, there were the following benefits: 1) the online teaching materials were systematically accumulated, 2) the students could turn out to increase their learning efficiency and 3) the lecturer could systematically deal with the students’ learning outcomes. However, the following disadvantages were also revealed: 1) the lecture could not grasp the students’ learning progress easily and 2) the students with less self-directed learning skills were not able to obtain the efficient learning progress. On the other hand, the Artificial Intelligence course, took real-time video conferencing method, which showed several benefits such as the presentation of learning materials through screen sharing, the cultivation of logical/computing thinking through carrying out coding tasks and presenting her own individual project. On the other side of coin, it called for flexible adjustment of individualized learning, etc. Overall, the case comparison study indicated several factors that might enhance the next round of online course delivery for per-service teachers.
