사회 포용과 관객 개발에 관한 시론적 연구

국문 초록

오늘날 한국의 예술 시장은 과거에 비해 한 해 동안 공연장을 찾는 관객이1,000만여 명에 이르는 등 양적으로는 크게 성장하였다. 하지만 실제로는관객의 대부분이 특정 사회계층에 한정되어 있다. 최근 심화되고 있는 사회적양극화와 경제적 불평등의 증가, 가족 해체, 다양한 문화적 배경을 지닌 이주자들의 증가에 따른 갈등은 우리 사회의 결속과 통합을 저해하는 요인으로작용한다. 각국은 예술을 모든 국민에게 계층에 관계없이 골고루 공급하면서문화민주주의를 실현하고자 공적 재원을 투입하여 공공 공연장을 설립, 운영하고 있다. 그러나 공적 지원을 받는 예술 기관에는 주로 소수의 잘 교육된대중이 참여한다. 관객 개발도 주로 전통적인 마케팅 이론에 근거하여 현재관객 및 잠재 관객을 대상으로 해왔다. 그러나 이러한 관객 개발은 사회 구조에서 배제된 사람들의 지속 가능한 참여의 변화로 이어지지 않는다. 본 연구는이러한 문제를 인식하고 사회 포용적 관점에서의 관객 개발이 요구되며, 이를실현하기 위한 방안으로 접근, 참여, 문화다양성, 예술교육을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Compared to the past, today's Korean art market has grown significantly in terms of quantity, with more than 10 million people visiting concert halls in a year. However, in reality, most of the audience is limited to a certain social class. The recent deepening social polarization, increase in economic inequality, disintegration of families, and conflicts due to the increase in migrants from various cultural backgrounds act as factors that hinder the solidarity and integration of our society. Countries establish and operate public performance venues by investing public resources to realize cultural democracy while providing arts to all citizens evenly regardless of class. However, publicly funded arts institutions often involve a small, well-educated public. Audience development has also been targeted primarily at current and potential audiences based on traditional marketing theories. However, this audience development does not lead to a change in the sustainable participation of those excluded from the social structure. Recognizing these issues, this study proposes approaches, participation, cultural diversity, and art education as a way to realize the demand for audience development from a socially inclusive perspective.
