국내 코칭 관련 민간자격의 현황과 발전 방안에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 코치 코칭 관련 민간자격의 현황을 분석하고, 해당 자격의 공신력과 신뢰성을 확보하기 위한 발전 방안을 제안하는 것이 목적이다. 연구대상은 국내 민간자격을 총괄하는 한국직업능력연구원의 민간자격정보서비스에 등록된 코치(Coach), 코칭(Coaching) 관련 명칭을 사용하는 민간자격 1,376개이고, 이들 자격의 명칭과 성격, 자격관리기관, 자격관리 기간, 자격 배출실적 등을 조사했다. 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스포츠 영역을 제외한 코치(코칭) 관련 민간자격은 총 1,335개였다. 그 가운데 코칭만 담당하는 코치 자격은 총 187개였고, 나머지는 상담/컨설팅/멘토링 등과 혼용된 자문 성격의 코치 자격으로 1,148개(86%)였다. 둘째, 최소 1명 이상의 코치를 배출한 실적이 있는 자격은 총 444개 자격이었고, 연평균 100명 이상의 코치를 배출한 실적이 있는 자격은 24개이었으며, 누적 인원 500명 이상의 코치를 배출한 실적이 있는 자격은 21개였다. 셋째, 국내 코치민간자격의 문제점은 특정 자격관리기관에 편중되었고, 1명의 코치도 배출하지 않은 자격관리기관이 많으며, 공인된 민간자격이 1개도 없다는 것이 문제점으로 도출되었다. 이런 결과를 바탕으로 코치(코칭) 민간자격의 공신력과 신뢰성 확보, 코치의 전문성 제고를 위해 코치 자격의 고도화 방안을 제안했다. 본 연구는 현재 한국 내 코치 자격 실태 파악과 코치 자격의 공신력 확보 방안 등에 대한 시사점을 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of private qualifications related to coaching in Korea, and to suggest development plans to secure public confidence and credibility of the coach qualifications. The subject of this study were 1,376 private qualifications using the names of Coach and Coaching registered in the private qualification information service of Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training which oversees private qualifications in Korea. We were investigated the names and features of qualifications, qualification management institutions, qualifications management period and qualification emission performance. The result is as follows. First, there were a total of 1,377 private coach qualifications excluding the sports field. Among them, a total of 187 coach qualifications were in charge if coaching, and the rest were 1,150(86%) coach qualifications with on advisory nature mixed with Counseling/Consulting/Mentoring. Second, there were a total of 444 qualifications with a record of producing at least one coach, 24 qualifications with a track record of producing more than 100 coaches on average per year, and 21 qualifications with a record of producing more than 500 coaches on average. Third, the problems with private coach qualifications in Korea are that they are concentrated on specific qualification management institutions, there were many qualification management institutions that do not produce even one coach, and there is no recognized private qualification. Based on these results, a plan for upgrading the coach’s qualifications was proposed to secure public confidence and credibility of the private coach qualification and to enhance the coach’s professionalism. This study is meaningful in that it provides implications for understanding the current status of coach qualifications in Korea and ways to secure public confidence in coach qualifications.
