국문 초록

마을공동체 만들기 사업이 정부와 지방자치단체의 주도하에 하향식으로 행해지고 있으나 그 필요성에 비하여 아직 현실적으로 자주적 자율적 자생단계는 아닌 상황에서 종교적, 특히 기독교적 관점에서 마을공동체에서 종교가 어떻게 기능할 수 있는지를 원론적 입장에서 접근하였다. 도시와 촌락의 마을의 형성과 주거형태가 상이한 것에 착안하여 먼저 마을과 마을공동체를 어떻게 정의할 것인지 살펴보았다. 마을공동체란 가치중립적인 개념이 아니라 일정한 지연공동체로서 조직적인 결합은 아니지만 동일한 목적, 이념, 그리고 종교가 결속을 가져오는 중요한 구심점이 될 수 있다. 마을공동체 관련하여 지방자치단체별로 조례가 제정되어 시행되고 있지만, 국가적 차원에서 통일적이고 효율적인 마을공동체 활성화를 위한 법률이 제안은 되고 있지만 아직 국회에 계류 중인 상태이다. 마을공동체에서 종교의 역할은 단지 전도나 포교의 목적으로서가 아니라 종교의 본질상 이웃사랑으로 구현되어야 할 중요한 기능이다. 종교가 갖는 ‘사랑’과 ‘자비’라는 최고의 덕목은 마을공동체 구성원들을 하나로 묶는 정신적 가치로서 역할을 할 수 있다. 본고에서는 초대 예루살렘 교회의 구성원들이 인종의 경계를 넘어 어떻게 종교공동체를 이루어냈는지를 살펴보고 마을에서 기능할 수 있는 종교적 역할 원리를 도출하였다. 본고에서 첫째, 친밀성(intimacy)의 원리, 둘째, 헌신과 섬김(devotion)의 원리, 셋째, 신뢰에 기반 한 도덕성(morality)의 원리, 넷째, 상호소통(mutual communication)의 원리, 다섯째, 상호 부조성(mutual aid)의 원리, 여섯째, 일치(accordence)의 원리를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

On the view of religion, especially Christianity, this paper approaches how religion can function in a village community. First of all, it reviews the definition of village and village community, paying attention to the differences in the formation and housing types of towns and villages between cities and agricultural, fishing, mountain villages. The village community is not the value neutral concept but the value orientation one. It is the community based on region. As a certain community, it is formed of organizational actions in some cases, but in most cases it is not an organizational unit. However, the same purpose, ideology and religion can make an important role to bring the unity of the community. Ordinances of village community have been enacted and implemented for each local communities, and statutes for the revitalization of a unified and efficient village community at the national level have been proposed, but are still pending in the National Assembly. The role of religion in the village community is not just for the purpose of evangelism or propaganda, but is an important function that needs to be realized through love for neighbor as the essence of religion. As the highest virtue of religion, Love and Mercy can serve as a spiritual value that unites the members of the village community. This paper examines how the members of the early Jerusalem church formed a religious community beyond racial boundaries, and derived the principle of a religious role that can function in the village community and suggests six principles. That is, first intimacy, second devotion, third morality based on faith, forth mutual communication, fifth mutual aid, sixth accordence.
