코로나19 중국 관련 신문 기사 제목의 비판적 담화분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 코로나19 신문 기사 중에서 중국과 관련된 기사 제목에 대한 분석을 통해 한국의 대표적인 보수계 신문인 <조선일보>와 진보계 신문인 <한겨레>의 관심사 및 경향성의 공통점과 차이점을 밝히는 데에 목적이 있다. 신문 기사는 객관적인 정보 전달이 기대되는데 텍스트 생산자의 이데올로기를 많이 개입하여 산출된다. 독자들이 신문을 읽을 때 비판적인 태도를 취할 필요가 있다. 중국은 코로나19가 최초로 발견된 나라로서 전 세계의 이목을 끌고 있다. 한편 한국은 중국의 이웃 나라로 중국에 더 많은 관심을 기울였다. 이러한 관심은 특히 신문 기사 제목을 통해서 확인할 수 있다고 본다. 2020년 1월부터 12월까지 <조선일보>와 <한겨레>에 코로나19 중국 관련 기사 제목을 분석함으로써 다음과 같은 공통점과 차이점을 찾을 수 있다. 첫째, <조선일보>와 <한겨레>에 나타난 고빈도 단어를 통해서 각각이 갖는 관심사의 공통점과 차이점을 확인할 수 있다. 이는 두 신문에서는 ‘중국 국내의 코로나 사태’, ‘한국에 미친 영향’, ‘세계 다른 나라에 미친 영향’ 등 3개 주제에 집중하여 논의한다는 공통점이 있지만 각각의 고빈도 단어와 구체적인 보도 초점에 차이점이 있다. 둘째, ‘우한폐렴’, ‘베이징’, ‘시진핑’ 등 키워드의 출현 빈도와 사용 양상을 통해서 <조선일보>와 <한겨레>의 보수적이거나 진보적인 경향성을 엿볼 수 있다. 이는 <조선일보>는 중국에 대해 비판적인 태도를 취하는 반면 <한겨레>는 상대적으로 중립적 태도로 사실 전달 목적으로 기사를 작성한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to clarify the commonalities and differences between the interests and trends of Korea's leading conservative newspaper and progressive newspaper through the analysis of the newspaper articles titles related to China's COVID-19. Newspaper articles are expected to deliver objective information, and are wrote by intervening a lot of the ideology of text producers. Readers need to be critical when reading newspapers. China is the first country to be discovered with COVID-19 and attracts attention from all over the world. Korea is a neighboring country of China, and there is a lot of attention paid to China. This attention can be confirmed especially through the title of the newspaper article. The following commonalities and differences can be found by analyzing the titles of newspaper articles related to COVID-19 in the Chosun Ilbo and Hankyoreh from January to December 2020. First, the commonalities and differences of each newspaper's interests can be confirmed through the high-frequency words appearing in the Chosun Ilbo and Hankyoreh. Although the two newspapers have something in common that they focus on three topics: the COVID-19 crisis in China, the impact on Korea, and the impact on other countries around the world, there are differences in high-frequency words and specific reporting focus. Second, the conservative or progressive tendencies of the and can be seen through the frequency and use of keyword such as “Wuhan pneumonia”, “Beijing” and “Si Jin-ping”. The can find a critical attitude toward China, while the writes articles for the purpose of conveying facts in a relatively neutral manner.
