국문 초록

이 연구는 2010년대 증가하고 있는 ‘도시에서 농촌으로의 이주’ 현상을 귀농귀촌 개념을 넘어 전체 인구이동의 흐름 속에 위치짓고자 한다. 지역의 인구위기가 심화되는 가운데, 새로운 가능성으로 조명되고있는 농촌 이주 흐름이 일시적 유행이나 소수 집단의 문화, 또는 도시적 개발로 인한 교외화 현상이 아님을 단계적 분석을 통해 밝힌다. 첫째, 전국 지역을 읍면동 단위에서부터 도시 지역과 촌 지역으로 구분하고, 각 분석 단위 지역에 인구가 유입되는 양상을 2003년부터 2019년까지의 시계열 패턴으로 유형화한다. 이를 통해 2010년을 기점으로 순유출에서 순유입으로 전환되어 지속되는 지역(순유입전환 지역)들을 발견했다. 둘째, 유입되는 인구의 인구경제학적 특성을 기준으로 지역을 유형화한다. 이를 통해 도시로의이동과는 달리 다양한 인구가 유입되는 촌 지역(대안형 지역)을 구분하여 발견했다. 셋째, 대안형 지역이면서도 2010년대에 들어 인구순유입이 전환되는 유형에 속하는 지역들이 유의미하게 나타났음을 발견했다. 즉 2010년대 도시에서 농촌으로의 인구이동은 시간적 지속성과 공간적 확장성을 보이며 다양한 양상으로 전개되고 있을 가능성이 확인된다.

영문 초록

This study aims to position the increasing phenomenon of ‘migration from urban to rural’ in the 2010s beyond the concept of ‘returning to farming’ and in the flow of whole demographic transition. Urban-rural migration is being spotlighted as a new possibility amid the deepening population crisis in the region. However, the universality and structural stability of this phenomenon have not been confirmed. Therefore, this study revealed through a step-by-step analysis that this phenomenon is not suburbanization or not due to temporary trends, culture of minority groups, or urban development. First, the entire country was divided into urban and rural areas from the eup, myeon, and dong district units. After that, the pattern of population inflow from 2003 to 2019 was categorized. Through this, regions shows net inflow transtion were discovered in 2010's. Second, regions are categorized based on the economicdemographic features of the incoming population. Through this, alternative type regions where various populations are moving in and suburban areas located in metropolitan areas were classified. Third, it was found that regions that are alternative type regions but belong to the ‘net-inflow transition area type’ were significant in the 2010s. It is confirmed that the movement of population from urban to rural areas in the 2010s shows structural continuity and spatial expansion and is developing in various aspects.
