기혼여성의 경력유지에 성역할가치관이 미치는 영향 - 생존분석방법 적용

국문 초록

본 연구는 지속적으로 높게 나타나는 우리나라 기혼여성의 경력단절 현상을 이해하기 위해 성역할가치관의 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 여성가족패널조사(KLoWF)의 1차 조사부터 7차 조사까지의 11년간의 자료를 이용하여 시간을 고려한 생존분석방법을 적용하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과같다. 첫째, 기혼여성의 평균 경력유지 기간은 59개월로 나타났으며, 경력유지 생존율의 시각적인추이로는 2~5년간의 경력유지 이후 경력유지율이 급격하게 하락하는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 성역할가치관은 기혼여성의 경력유지에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 성 평등인식이높은 기혼여성일수록 경력유지 확률이 더 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기혼여성의 연령대별집단과 성역할가치관의 상호작용은 경력유지에 유의미한 영향력이 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 즉, 젊은 세대 중 비전통적 성역할가치관을 가진 기혼여성들은 다른 여성들보다 경력을 지속적으로 유지할 확률이 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 기혼여성들의 경력유지를 강화시키기 위해서 세대별, 성역할가치관에 따른 차등적 정책 마련이 필요하다는 점을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the effect of gender role values in order to understand the phenomenon of career interruption among married woman in Korea, which is consistently high. For this purpose, the survival analysis method considering time was applied using 11 years of data from the 1st to 7th survey of the KLoWF(Korea Woman’s and Family Panel Survey). The results of this study are as follows. First, the average career retention period of married woman was 59 months, and as a visual trend, it was analyzed that the career retention rate declined sharply after two to five years of career retention. Second, the gender role values were analyzed to have a significant effect on the career retention of married woman. The higher the gender equality awareness, the higher the probability of maintaining a career. Third, it was analyzed that the interaction of married woman by age group and gender role values had a significant influence on career retention. In other words, it was found that among the younger generation, married woman with non-traditional gender role values were significant more likely to maintain their careers than other woman. This study emphasized the need to prepare differential policies according to generational and gender role values in order to strengthen the career retention of married woman.
