디지털 성폭력 피해 상담자의 경험에 관한 질적 사례 연구: 디지털 성폭력 피해 상담의 어려움과 대처를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 사회적으로 큰 파장을 일으키고 있는 젠더기반 폭력의 한 형태인 디지털 성폭력 피해 상담을 실무 현장에서 수행하고 있는 상담자의 경험을 살펴 본 질적 연구이다. 참여자는 젠더기반 폭력 상담과 트라우마 치료를 전문분야로 하는 여성 상담자 4인이며 반구조화 된 면접을 통하여 수집된 자료를 크레스웰(Creswell, 2007)의 사례연구방법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, ‘압도적 불안은 일상과 안전한 관계로부터의 단절을 초래함’, ‘지지체계의 부족과 제도의 미비함을 절감하며 상담자로서 무력감을 느낌’, ‘단절되었던 신체 감각과 사회적 관계를 다시 연결하며 통제감 회복을 촉진함’, ‘상담에서의 연결은 더 넓은 연대로 확장되어 사회적 변화를 촉구함’의 4개 차원과 24개의 공통 주제, 72개의 하위 주제가 도출되었다. 참여자들은 범죄 발전의 속도와 정부 기관의 사후적 대처의 간극 속에서, 피해자에 대한 1차적 개입과 치료의 역할을 동시에 감당하며 피해자들의 고통을 함께 마주하였다. 나아가 피해자들의 회복을 위해 상담자 스스로가 사회적 지지 자원이 되어주고, 신체감각 기반 접근을 통해 단절된 내 몸의 감각과 사회적 연결을 촉진하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연결은 상담 장면을 넘어 젠더기반 폭력의 사회구조적 피해에 대해 저항하는 연대로 확장되며, 사회적 변화를 촉구하는 실천으로 이어졌다. 마지막으로 연구 결과를 토대로 한 시사점과 제한점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study is a qualitative study that examines the experiences of counsellors who provide counselling for victims of digital sexual violence, a form of gender-based violence that has recently caused a great social stir. The participants were four female counsellors who specialise in counselling for gender-based violence and trauma treatment, and the data collected through semi-structured interviews were analysed using Creswell's (2013) case study method. As a result, four dimensions and 24 common themes, 72 sub-themes were derived: ‘Overwhelming anxiety leads to a break from daily life and trusted others,’ ‘I feel helpless as a counsellor, feeling the lack of support system and the inadequacy of the system,’ ‘Reconnecting the disconnected body sensation and social relationships promotes the restoration of a sense of control,’ and ‘The connection in counselling extends to wider solidarity, prompting social change.’ Participants faced the pain of victims while simultaneously playing the role of primary intervention and treatment for victims, in the gap between the speed of crime development and the reactive response of government agencies. Furthermore, it was found that counsellors themselves become social support resources for the recovery of victims and promote social connection through a body-sensory-based approach to reconnecting the senses of the body with social connections. This connection extended beyond the counselling scene to a solidarity that resisted the social structural damage of gender-based violence, leading to practices that called for social change. Finally, the implications and limitations of the research findings were presented.
