국문 초록

1991년 위성 방송 시작 이후, 현재 약 100개의 외국 베이스 위성 채널 프로그램이 이란 국내에서 방영되고 있다. 이란 디아스포라가 제작해서 송출하는 위성 미디어 채널들을 통해 대안적인 담론이 생산된다. 또한 위성 방송은 새로운 의미와 질서를 만들어 내는 헤테로토피아적인 공간으로 자리매김하였다. 이란 국민들은 전지구적인 위성 채널을 통해 글로벌 이슈와 담론들을 접하게 되고, 이에 이란 정부는 소프트 전쟁을 강조하며 강력한 견제의 움직임을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 위성 미디어가 이란 내 변혁을 갈구하는 시민들의 눈과 귀가 되고, 동시에 이란 국민들이 국내, 그리고 국외의 연대하는 힘을 구성하는 과정을 보여주고 있다.

영문 초록

Since the beginning of satellite broadcasting in 1991, there are around 100 foreign satellite channel programs currently being broadcasted in Iran. Satellite channels in Persian from outside of Iran are create alternative discourses. Moreover Satellite Media became ‘Heterotopic Space’ of resistance and competing identites. In this process, a rupture is formed between the top-down national identity fed through the Islam republic and the identity built through the discourses formed through alternative media. The Iranian nationals come in contact with global issues and discourses through global channels, therefore the Iranian government emphasizes the ‘soft war’ and warned the negative effects. This study will examine the processes in which the satellite media become the eyes and ears of the citizens who long for change in Iran when anti-governmental social movement is under way, and in which the Iranian people become aware of the ‘power of solidarity’ through the satellite programs.
