국문 초록

본 연구는 도시 경관조명을 연구범위로 하여 도시에서의 미디어파사드 디자인 현황을 조사하고 관련 국내외 사례를 조사한 뒤 미디어파사드 디자인의 발전상을 파악하였다. 미디어파사드 디자인의 표현방식을 연구하여 도시 경관조명 층면에서 미디어파사드 디자인 활용 유형을 구분하는 방법은 여러 가지가 있다. 본 연구는 실현 기술에 따라 미디어파사드 유형을 분류하였고, 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째는 LED 조명패널, 두 번째는 LED 디스플레이, 세 번째는 프로젝션맵핑(Projection Mapping), 마지막은 키네틱(Kinetic)이다. LED 조명 패널, LED 디스플레이는 미디어파사드의 분야에서 가장 기본적이고 광범위하게 적용되고 있지만 에너지 절약과 색상 조정에 있어 더 좋은 기능성을 부족하다는 연구의 결과가 나왔다. 프로젝션 맵핑은 가장 유행하는 영상을 응용하여 보여주는 형식이지만, 넓은 표현공간이 요구되어 도시 공간에서 디자인에 한계가 있다. 키네틱(Kinetic)은 시각 감각과 도형화에 약하지만 에너지 절약과 지속가능한 디자인의 특징과 강점이 있다. 본 연구가 미디어파사드 디자인 분야에 대한 기초 자료와 연구 방향을 제공하기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the current status of media facade design in cities, investigates domestic and foreign cases, identifies the development of media facade design, studies the expression of media facade design, and distinguishes media facade design types. This study classified media facade types according to realization technology. The analysis results are as follows. The first is an LED lighting panel, the second is an LED display, the third is projection mapping, and the last is kinetic. LED lighting panels and LED displays are the most basic and widely applied in the field of media facades, but research has shown that they lack better functionality in energy saving and color adjustment. Projection mapping is a form that shows the most popular images by applying them, but there is a limit to design in urban space because a large expression space is required. Kinetic is weak in visual sense and graphics, but has the characteristics and strengths of energy saving and sustainable design. It is expected that this study provides basic data and research directions for the field of media facade design.
