영남지방 목곽묘 토기부장 의례 양상으로 본 토기 유통권의 변화

국문 초록

이 글은 부장토기에는 부장의례에 의한 토기유통의 선택압이 있었을 것임을 논증하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 분석을 위해 목곽묘 부장의례에 사용되는 토기 기종의 종류와 기종구성의 선택에는 분묘제사에 음식 공헌 의례로서 각각의 토기기종이 자비기, 저장기, 의례기, 성찬기의 의례용기로서 형상화하여 나타나는 점을 활용한다. 토기부장 의례는 목곽묘 장송의례의 절차에 따라 부장된다. 이러한 토기부장 의례행위는 토기를 목곽의 보강토에 놓는 의례, 부장곽 내부에 놓거나 따로 제단상의 이혈 부곽에놓는 의례, 목곽 부장 이후 상부에 다시 토기를 파쇄하여 뿌리거나 단경호를 부장하며 봉토를 덮는 의례, 봉토를 덮은 후에는 대호를 놓거나 주구에 대호를 파쇄하는 의례로 유형화 할 수 있다. 이러한 토기부장 의례양상은 권력자의 의사결정과 관련된 것으로 상위 목곽묘의 위계를 중심으로 먼저 나타난다. 이것이 토기소비지인 목곽묘 의례를 수행하기 위한 토기 전문 생산체계인 토기 유통과 관련된다. Ⅰ기의 대형 목곽묘는 보강토에 부장하는의례가 나타나며 기종구성은 비슷하지만 기종의 형식은 권역별로 다소 다르다. Ⅱ기 대형 목곽묘가 증가하는 낙동강 하구역은부곽을 중심으로 다양한 토기가 부장되는 반면 낙동강 이서권역은 Ⅰ기의 보강토 중심의 부장이 지속되며 주구내 대형호를 부장한다. 이후 고식도질토기 중심권은 소지역권 대형고분군의 부장전통에서도 행해지며 부장토기의 유통권이 낙동강 하구역의금관가야와 낙동강 이서권의 아라가야, 다라국, 진주일대에 내륙의 소지역권을 가지며 확대되었다. Ⅲ기 이후에는 중소형 목곽묘가 급진적으로 증가하며 목곽 내 부장갱과 발치부장이 정형화되며 토기 기종구성도 대형묘와 유사해진다. 이후 낙동강 이서권과 하구권의 빈번한 유통을 통해 양식의 혼합이 나타나며 중소형고분군의 증가에 따라 토기유통권이 확대되어 상위고분과 중소형 고분군의 소지역양식이 분리되어 성립하면서 토기유통권의 분화가 발생하였다.

영문 초록

This study is to prove that there must have been selection pressure in earthen ware circulation in burying earthen wares depending on burial rites. Such a selection pressure must have led to the composition of what kinds of earthen wares could be buried in wooden chamber tombs. And, ritual meanings of kinds of earthen wares must have influenced the kinds of earthen wares buried in tombs according to the rites of food offering rites. Afterwards, dojilje gobae developed from traditional earthen ware styles from different regions began to form unique styles in different regions. The regions where unique gosik dojiltogi styles were developed were Geumgwan Gaya in the Nakdong River estuary region, Ara Gaya in the western region of the Nakdong River, Dara guk around the main region of the Nakdong River, and the Jinju region of the Nam River. Such burial rites of large-sized tombs in different regions affected those of small- and middle-sized tombs, and, along with developments of such burial styles, trade of burial earthen wares was also expanded. Frequent trade of earthen wares between the estuary region and the western region of the Nakdong River led to the mixture of styles of the regions and unique styles in smaller regions also appeared. The circulation spheres of earthen wares in smaller regions were expanded with the increase of small- and middle-sized tombs, and diversification of circulation spheres of earthen wares also appeared with the separation of large-sized tombs and small- and middle-sized tombs. The late Geumgwan Gaya-style earthen ware was developed in the main tombs in Gimhae Geumgwan Gaya, while various types of earthen wares from So Gaya, Bihwa Gaya, and Ara Gaya, etc. were provided to small- and middle-sized tombs outside of the main tombs. In the case of Ara Gaya, the typical Ara Gaya style wares like sanghyeong earthen ware and hwayeongmuntochang gobae and others were buried in the main large-sized tombs, but imported wares from So Gaya and Bihwa Gaya were buried in increasing proportions in the small- and middle-sized tombs outside of the main tombs.
