아바꿈의 『생애전житие』에 나타난 서술의 문제

국문 초록

아바꿈의 『생애전』은 여러 가지 면에서 독특하다. 자신의 전기를 스스로 쓴다는 점, 생애전에 개인적 감정과 정서가 포함된다는 점에서 당시 문학사에서 획기적인 작품이었다. 또한 언어 역시 중세의 성자전의 형식과 구어적 양식이 혼용되어 나타난다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 『생애전』의 창작 배경과 함께 작품에 나타난 서술구조를 살펴보고자 한다. 생애전에서 아바꿈은 작품의 서술자일뿐만 아니라, 주인공이다. 자신의 일대기를 기록하는 서술자 아바꿈은 서사구조의 대척점에 있는 청자를 고려하지 않을 수 없다. 따라서 자동적으로 주어지던 권위를 온전히 가지지 못한 서술자는 청자를 고려한 서술을 하게 된다. 아바꿈은 “생애전”이라는 장르를 통해 자신의 이야기를 청자에게 들려주며 권위를 스스로 얻어가는 독특한 구조를 보이고 있다.

영문 초록

The story of the saints of Avakum is unique in several ways. It was a groundbreaking work in the history of literature at the time in that he wrote his own biography and in that his personal feelings and emotions were included in this genre. In addition, the language also appears in a mixture of the forms of medieval saints and the oral form. This study intends to examine the narrative structure and the creative background of the 『The story of the saints』 In the biography of his life, Avakum is not only the narrator of the work, but also the protagonist. A narrator who records his own biography cannot but consider the listener who is at the opposite point of the narrative structure. Therefore, the narrator who does not have the full authority given automatically makes the narration considering the audience. Avakum has a unique structure in which it gains authority by telling its own story to the listener through the genre 『The story of the saints』.
