초등교사의 다문화 감수성이 교사-다문화가정 학부모 간 의사소통에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 교사-다문화가정 학부모 간 의사소통에 영향을 미치는 변인에 대해 알아보고 초등교사의 다문화 감수성과 다문화 교수효능감이 교사-다문화가정 학부모 간 의사소통과 어떠한 관련성이 있는가를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 다문화가정 학생의 비율이 높은 초등학교에서 근무하는 500명의 교사를 대상으로 설문지가 실시되었으며 설문지 총 452부 가운데 다문화 경험에 대한 응답이 충실하지 않은 설문지를 제외하고 총 414부가 분석에 사용되었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화 감수성은 다문화 교수효능감과 교사-다문화가정 학부모 간 의사소통(의사소통 수준 및 능력)에서 정적으로 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화 감수성과 교사-다문화가정 학부모 간 의사소통(의사소통 수준 및 능력) 관계에서 다문화 감수성은 다문화 교수효능감을 매개로 의사소통(의사소통 수준 및 능력)에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 교사의 다문화가정에 대한 의사소통 능력과 수준을 향상시키기 위해 다문화 감수성과 다문화 교수효능감을 제고할 수 있는 연수 과정과 교사 교육이 보다 체계적으로 지원되어야 할 필요를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the barriers and variables affecting multicultural parent and teacher communication by comparing the relationships between multicultural sensitivity and multicultural teaching efficacy of elementary school teachers. 500 elementary school teachers with schools with a high percentage of students with a culturally diverse background of students were enrolled in the study. A total of 452 surveys were distributed and 414 responses were used for statistical analysis. The current study reported correlations between multicultural sensitivity, multicultural teaching efficacy, and the level and ability of multicultural parent-teacher communication. No direct correlation between multicultural sensitivity and the level and ability of multicultural parent-teacher communication was reported, however, through the mediation of multicultural teaching efficacy, significant improvements were reported on multicultural sensitivity and multicultural parent-teacher communication. To improve multicultural parent and teacher communication, there is a necessity for more systematic education and training courses on multicultural teaching efficacy and multicultural sensitivity to elementary school teachers.
