국문 초록

본 연구는 COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서 교사가 어떤 어려움을 겪는지, 그리고 교사의 특성에 따라 어려움의 양상이 달라지는지 분석한다. 분석을 위해 전국 초중등 교사 1,839명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행했으며, 교차분석 및 카이제곱 검정을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 대다수의 교사는 교육부의 가이드라인이 명확하지 않음에, 지침이 하달식으로 내려오는 방식에 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 수업준비에 어려움을 느꼈다고 대답한 교사는 약 10%에 그쳤다. 한편, 교사의 특성별로는, 경력 및 세대, 연령, 학교급, 직위에 따라 어려움을 느끼는 지점이 달랐다. 교사의 역할 인식에 따른 차이는 크지 않았는데, 교사의 역할 인식과는 관계없이 대부분 교사들이 불명확한 가이드라인과 지침하달 방식에 어려움을 느낀다는 결과이다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 교사 집단에 대한 심층적인 이해가 필요함을 제언하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes what difficulties teachers face in the COVID-19 pandemic situation and whether the pattern of difficulties varies depending on the teachers’ characteristics. Survey data of 1,839 elementary and secondary teachers nationwide were used for the analysis and cross-analysis and chi-square tests were conducted. The findings are as follows. Most teachers were having difficulty in unclear guidelines and in the way the guidelines of the Ministry of Education were issued in the top-down way. Only about 10% of the teachers answered that they had difficulty preparing for classes. By teacher s characteristics, the points of difficulty vary according to career and generation, age, school level, and the status. The difference according to the teacher s role perception was not large, but regardless of the teacher s role perception, most teachers find it difficult to understand unclear guidelines and top-down way of conveying guideline. Based on the findings, it is suggested that an in-depth understanding of the teacher group is required.
