국문 초록

김영보(金泳俌, 1900~1962)는 우리나라 최초의 창작 희곡집 『황야(荒野)에서』를 출간한 극작가이다. 그의 희곡 <정치 삼매(情痴三昧)>와 <시인(詩人)의 가정(家庭)>은 1921년에 서울의 단성사(團成社)에서 공연된 바 있다. 김영보의 창작 희곡 <가을>(1922년 탈고)은 1924년 개성에서 발간된 녹파회(綠波會) 동인 합작집(同人合作集) 『성군(星群)』에 실려 발표되었다. 그러나 이 사실은 몇몇 기록에서만 확인될 뿐, 동인지 『성군』이 소실되어 작품의 전모를 알 수가 없었다. 그런데, 작가의 아들인 김동소 교수(전 대구가톨릭대학교)가 오랜 탐문 끝에 이 동인지를 발굴함으로써 비로소 희곡 <가을>이 그 모습을 온전히 세상에 드러내게 되었다. 희곡 <가을>은 단막극으로 200자 원고지 100장 정도의 분량이다. 작가는 <가을>에서 사랑을 다루면서도 노동자의 삶에 눈을 돌리고 있어 세계를 인식하는 지평이 확대되고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 또, 이 작품을 통해 작가가 뒤에 언론인으로 전신하게 된 실마리를 찾을 수도 있다. 작가가 등장인물의 대사를 통해 자기 시대 노동현장의 문제를 정확하게 파악하여 제시한 것은 바로 기자의 눈이기 때문이다.

영문 초록

Kim Yeong-bo (金泳俌, 1900~1962) is a playwright who published ‘In the Wild’, Korea’s fi rst collection of creative plays.” In particular, two of his plays titled ‘Political Devotion’ and ‘Th e Poet’s Family’ were performed at Dansungsa in Seoul in 1921. ‘Autumn’ (completed in 1922), a Kim Young-bo’s creative play’ was introduced to ‘Asterism( 星群)’, a Nokpahoe Dongin collaborative collection published in Kaesong in 1924. However, this particular fact is found in several records only and the play has not been known in entirety because Asterism has been missing. Th en, ‘Autumn’ has been fully introduced to the world in its entirety as professor Kim Dong -so (at former Daegu Catholic University), the son of the playwright, discovered ‘Dongin’ journal after extensive inquiry eff ort. Th e play ‘Autumn’ is a one-act play written on about 100 pages of manuscript, 200 letters per page in length. Th e playwright deals with the topic of love in ‘Autumn’ but turns his attention to the lives of workers, indicating his expanded view of the world. In addition, the work provides a clue as to why the writer changed his career from a writer to a journalist because It is the reporter’s eyes that allows the writer to accurately understand and present the labor issues of his time through the lines of the characters.
