국문 초록

코로나19로 인한 팬데믹 상황은 인간의 삶에 급작스런 변화를 일으켰고, 이는 종교적 생활양식에도 큰 영향을 미치게 되었다. 특히 비대면 온라인 소통 방식이 널리 확산되면서 미디어에 대한 의존도가 강화되었다. 이러한 상황에서 교회의 예식적 측면과 공동체적인 대면 활동이 제약을 받으면서 신앙생활의 어려움을 불러일으킨다. 이처럼 신앙의 ‘공동체적 현장성’이 도전받는 상황에서, ‘신앙 공동체’의 새로운 개념 형성이 필요하며, ‘모이는 교회’에서 ‘찾아가는 교회’로의 패러다임 전환이 요청된다. 그리고 ‘가정 교회’의 충실한 건설이 중요한 사목적 대안으로서 강조된다. 이러한 교회론적 차원 외에도 신론의 관점에서 본다면, 오늘날 ‘하느님의 침묵’과 관련한 신정론 차원의 물음이 새로이 제기되고 있는데, 이에 대해 인간의 고통을 끌어안는 ‘하느님의 고통’에 대한 성찰을 통해 대응할 수 있을 것이다. 이제 그리스도인의 신앙생활은 영적으로 더욱 깊어져야 할 것이며, ‘활동 중심’과 ‘존재 중심’의 통합적 조화를 이루어야 할 것이다. 현재의 상황 속에서 교회의 공동체적 식별과 쇄신은 영적 차원의 회심에서 출발해 생태적 차원의 연대성과 보편적 친교를 포괄하는 통합적 전망에서 이루어져야 한다.

영문 초록

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought drastic changes in the way people live. This in turn has largely impacted how people live their religious life, as reflected in people’s increased dependence on media due to the widespread use of online communication in lieu of in-person interactions. Many restrictions on the Church’s ritual and communitarian activities have also brought challenges to the faithful trying to live out their faith. With the ‘communitarian present-ness’ fundamental to Christian faith facing such obstacles, the pandemic invites the Church to formulate a new concept of ‘faith community’ and shift the paradigm from a ‘Church as congregation’ to a ‘Church as missionary.’ Furthermore, a more robust growth of the ‘domestic Church’ needs to be emphasized as an important alternative to pastoral activities. In addition to this ecclesiological dimension, the implications of the pandemic also raises new questions on the doctrine of God’s presence. As today’s world continues to answer questions related to theodicy and ‘the silence of God,’ the Church is called to respond with a reflection on ‘the suffering God’ who embraces human suffering. The pandemic reveals the need for the spiritual deepening of Christians’ religious life, which would require an integral harmony between ‘doing’ and ‘being.’ The Church’s communitarian discretion and renewal in response to today’s challenges must start from a spiritual conversion and grow toward an integral vision that encompasses solidarity in the ecological dimension as well as universal communion.
