위기의 현재, 어떤 쇄신이 교회에 요구되나?

국문 초록

세상을 인식하는 새로운 통합체계로 급변하고 있는 사회 한 가운데서 교회는 그 영향을 교회 안팎으로 크게 받고 있다. 더욱이 팬데믹으로 이 패러다임의 전환이 가속화되고 있는 오늘의 현실속에서 교회는 이 시대를 사는 사람들과 어떻게 소통할 수 있을까? 영적인 것을 갈급해하지만 세이렌의 노랫소리에 넋이 나간 현대인들에게, ‘인간됨’의 음악, 복음의 선율을 제공하기 위해서 교회는 어떻게 쇄신되어야 하는가? 이를 탐구하기 위해서 20세기 초부터 21세기 초반까지를 세 시기로 구분하여, 교회가 이해한 하느님관과 교회론을 보고, 교회가 이를 구체화한 삶의 방식과 활동 방식을 살펴보았다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 ‘오늘’을 숙고하였다. 1장에서는 20세기 초에 인간 중심의 패러다임으로 전환되는 서구사회와, 세계 곳곳에 교회를 설립하면서 만나는 새로운 세계와, 교회는 어떻게 소통하고자 했는지, 또 그 한계는 어떠한 것이었는지를 몇 가지 문헌을 통해 보았다. 2장에서는 비역사적이고 사변적이며, 객관적인 지식으로 전달되었던 하느님의 계시를 내면적이고 상호 주체적인 관계를 통해 소통하고 체험할 수 있는 신비로 접근하면서 교회를 쇄신하고자 한 제2차 바티칸 공의회의 노력을 몇 가지 문헌을 통하여 살펴보았다. 그리고 3장에서는 공의회 50년 후 더 깊어지고, 더 넓어지고, 더 빨라진 세계화 현상 가운데, 더욱 다원화되어가는 세상에서 프란치스코 교황은 공의회를 현대 사회에 맞도록 어떻게 재해석하면서 교회를 쇄신하고자 하는지, 또 어떠한 ‘삶의 방식과 행동 방식’을 제시하는지를 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 이 모든 탐구를 바탕으로, 오늘날 현대인들의 새로운 통합적 인식체계와 소통하는 교회, 그러면서 교회의 본연의 성사적 역할을 다하고 일치의 표징과 도구가 되는 교회가 되기 위해서 교회는 어떠한 삶의 방식과 행동 방식으로 전환되어야 하는지를 보았다. 즉 현교황이 제시하는 삼천년대의 교회상인 삼위일체이신 하느님에 근간을 둔 공동합의적 교회로 쇄신되기 위해서 어떠한 구체적 변화가 요구하는지 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

Today, the Church finds herself at the heart of a society that is in full mutation, which has been further accelerated by the pandemic. In this time of uncertainty and transition, how can the Church better communicate the Good News of salvation to the people of this present time? In what ways must she be reformed so that the ‘fresh music’ of the Gospel may be heard by the people of today who hunger and thirst for salvation but are seduced and hypnotized by the siren song of society. In order to face the present time of the church and to think about her future, we will work on the period beginning with the 20th century up until the present day by dividing it into 4 parts. Chapter 1 will explore the period from the beginning of the 20th century to the threshold of the Second Vatican Council ; the time when Western society was in the midst of a paradigm shift to put man at the centre, and also the time when the Churches began to be established in the four corners of the world. We will examine the modus vivendi et operandi of the Church during this period and the theology of revelation, ecclesiology and missiology that supported its modus. We will specifically focus on her way of acting towards the churches born of mission. Chapter 2 will explore some of the primordial texts of the Second Vatican Council which are at the source of the Church s aggiornamento, that is, at the source of her new paradigm of being and acting. In chapter 3, 50 years after the Council, in a world that has become more pluralistic under globalization, which has evolved in depth, in breadth and in speed, we will see how Pope Francis tries to apply the conciliar spirit by reinterpreting it for today s world and by proposing a reform of the Church adapted for today. Finally, at the base of all this work, we will approach a reflection on modus vivendi and operandi of the Church which will be able to manifest her role as a sacrament of unity in the heart of this constant changing and uncertain world. Finally, our attention will be drawn to deepening the meaning of the synodal Church as a proposed model for the third millennium by Pope Francis, and its application in all modus vivendi and operandi in the life of the Church.
