코로나 시대에 주목하는 박해시대 교우촌의 공동체 삶과 전례

국문 초록

본 논문은 코로나19 상황에서 한국 가톨릭교회에서 새롭게 제기되는 전례와 삶의 관계 문제에 대한 해법을 박해시대(1785~1886) 교우촌 신자들의 공동체적 삶과 전례에서 찾고자 한다. 논문은 먼저 전례와 삶의 관계 문제를 ‘시노달리타스(synodalitas)’의 한국적 수용이라는 맥락에 위치시킨다. 전례와 삶의 괴리 문제를 ‘시노드적 교회’를 실현하는 데 장애물로 작용하는 성직 중심의 권위주의와 연결하여 이해하려는 것이다. 여기서는 평신도의 보편사제직에 대한 적극적 인식과 교회 삶과 사명에 능동적, 자발적 참여를 가능케 하는 새로운 해석학의 필요성을 역설한다. 다음으로 한국교회 박해시대 동안 교우촌이 형성되고 확산하게 된 경위를 살피고, 교우촌 신자들의 일상생활과 신앙생활을 소묘한 다음 그 안에서 전례가 차지하는 위상을 고찰한다. 특별히 ‘첨례표’에 반영되는 신자들의 전례 중심적 삶과 거기서 회장이 행했던 중심적 역할을 강조하고자 한다. 마지막으로 ‘삶의 거행’이라는 아프리카 토착화 신학의 해석학적 전망에 따라 교우촌 공동체에서 전례와 선포와 생활의 선순환이 어떻게 이루어졌는지 고찰한다. 이를 통해 교회의 복음 선포 사명에 대한 권위주의적 인식에서 벗어나 평신도의 삶으로부터 출발하는 ‘아래로부터’의 복음 선포 사명을 강조하고자 한다. 이로써 교회 안에서 평신도 중심의 사목자 역할을 새롭게 규정해야 할 당위성을 역설하고자 한다. 결론적으로 코로나19 시대에 시노드적 교회를 실현하기 위해 가장 시급히 요청되는 것으로 전례와 일상생활의 선순환을 매개하는 해석하는 공동체 창출, 생활 속에서 실천하는 전례적 삶, 평신도 양성의 필요성을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This paper seeks to find a solution to a new problem of the Korean Catholic Church caused by the Covid-19, that is, the problem of the relationship between liturgy and life, by looking into the community life and liturgy of the Catholic Villages in the Era of Persecution(1885-1886). It first places the problem of the relationship between liturgy and life within the context of Korean acceptance of ‘synodalitas’. The purpose of this is to understand the gap between liturgy and life in connection with the clergy- centered authoritarianism that acts as an obstacle to realizing a ‘synodal church’. It also emphasizes the necessity of a new hermeneutics that enables the active and voluntary participation of the laity in the life and mission of the Church, as well as the active recognition of the common priesthood. Next, this paper examines how the Catholic Villages were formed and spread during the Era of Persecution, which then leads to a description of the daily and religious life of the Villages’ laypeople, as well as the status of the liturgy in their lives. In particular, it intends to shed light on the laity’s liturgical life which can be found in the ‘Liturgical Calendar’ and the central role played by the ‘Hoejang(chairman)’. Finally, it is shown, with the hermeneutic perspective of the African inculturation theology of “the celebration of life”, how the virtuous cycle of liturgy, proclamation, and life was achieved in the Catholic Villages. This is to emphasize from below approach for the mission of proclaiming the Gospel, which begins with the life of the laity and breaks away from the authoritarian recognition of the Church s mission. In this way, this paper attempts to provide justification for a new definition of the pastor’s role centered on the laity of the Church. The conclusion of this paper suggests that creating an interpreting community which mediates the virtuous cycle of liturgy and life, practicing liturgical living in everyday life, and training the laity are most urgently required to realize a ‘synodal church’ in the era of the Covid-19.
