국문 초록

코로나19 사태로 인한 사회의 급격한 변화 속에서 교회는 나아가야 할 길을 재정립해야 하는 때(Kairos)에 봉착했다. 한국 천주교회는 사상 처음으로 공동체 미사가 중지되었고, 전반적인 사목 지표들이 저하된 상황을 맞이했다. 코로나 위기 상황에 대한 기존의 연구들은 통계 분석이나 신학적 성찰을 통하여 교의적이거나 사목적 진단과 전망을 제시하였다. 다만, 현장 사례에 기반하여 팬데믹 상황에서 시도되고 있는 의미 있고 창의적인 사목이 수행되고 있는 구체적인 경험적 사례조사와 이를 귀납적으로 분석한 사목 패러다임의 전환을 논의한 연구는 미흡하다. 이에 본 연구는 팬데믹상황 내 사목자와 평신도가 본당 사목 현장 안팎에서 실천하고 있는 효과적이고 의미 있는 사목 유형과 방식을 조사하고, 그러한 시도 속에 담겨 있는 사목적, 신앙적 가치와 의미로부터 도출할 수 있는 사목적 쇄신과 변화에 관한 함의와 방향을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 질적연구방법 중 하나인 사례조사(case study)를 통해 이뤄졌다. 본 연구는 본당 사목자의 능동적 회심, 평신도의 자발적 참여활동, 시노달리타스 실천, 온라인 비대면 환경 (유뷰트)의 활용을 기준으로 사례를 선정하였다. 선정한 사례에 관해서 참여관찰, 심층 인터뷰, 문헌 조사 등을 활용하여 경험자료들을 수집하고 삼각측정에 기반해서 체계적으로 분석하였다. 이로써 본 연구는 사목적 패러다임 전환 차원에서 ‘열린 본당에서 상주하며 인격적 돌봄과 영적 친교를 실천하는 사목’, ‘책무성과 진정성에 따른 공감의 사목’, ‘동반하고 경청하며, 역량 강화를 통해 시노달리타스를 실천하는 사목’이라는 세 가지 사목적 제언을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 의의를 갖는다. 첫째, 시노달리타스의 중요성이 부각되는 오늘날, 코로나19 사태를 통해 이를 실천한 구체적인 사례들을 발굴하고 그 안에서 사목 일선에서 참고하고 성찰해볼 수 있는 실제적인 다양한 사례들을 제공하였다. 둘째, 사목적으로 활용 가능한 대표적인 온라인 플랫폼인 가톨릭 관련 유튜브채널들을 유형화하였다. 셋째, 오늘날 교회 문헌이 사목자에게 요구하는 사목적 패러다임 전환의 방향과 지향을 경험사례에 근거한 귀납적 성찰을 통하여 명료화하였다.

영문 초록

Nowadays, the Church has faced a very special time (kairos) to change the ways of its being and doing in a new era of Corona crisis: the Korean Catholic church has halted a mass for the first time in its history and its overall indices (e.g. mass attendance, offerings, etc.) have significantly dropped. So far many research has done based on statistical comparisons or theological reflections and offered a new pastoral visions; however, they lacked empirical analysis of new pastoral cases where a new pastoral conversion has been initiated. Thus, this study tried to collect new cases of meaningful pastoral attempts tried by pastors or lay people which explore and pursue new horizons of pastoral conversion in the light of synodality. This study has performed case study with a set of qualitative methods including participatory observation, in-depth interview, and content analysis. In particular, the cases were selected by the four criteria: 1) a pastor’s voluntary conversion, 2) lay people’s active participation, 3) ecclesial efforts for synodality, and 4) online (Youtube). Based on triangulation of researchers trying to reach the validity of empirical case analysis, this study suggests inductively three paradigm changes: 1) open, parish-residential pastorship with personal care and spiritual communion; 2) Compassion-driven pastorship with accountability and authenticity; 3) Synodality-oriented pastorship with the accompaniment of hearing and empowerment. This study has several significances. First, researchers offered concrete empirical cases reflecting on the new modes of pastoral conversion and the significance of synodality at the time of Corona crisis. Second, researchers analyzed meaningful types of Youtubes in the online contexts of new pastoral participation. Third, researchers clearly suggested the directions of pastoral paradigms in the light of the contemporary church teachings and magisterium.
