The main purpose of this study is to examine how the pronunciation of Korean Russian learners differs from the Russian female speaker s pronunciation through the experimental phonetic method of Russian vowels spoken by Korean Russian learners and Russian female speakers. Through this study, five conclusions were reached. First, Russian vowels of Russian female speakers have a following structure: high vowel /i/> /u/, mid vowel /o/ > /e/, lower vowel /a/ according to tongue height, and front vowel /i/ > /e/, back vowel /a/ > /o/ > /u/ according to the front and back of the tongue. When we look at the formant distribution of Russian female speakers, vowels /i/ and /e/ are strong front vowels, and vowel /u/ is strongest back vowel among back vowels /a/, /o/, /u/. When we look at the formant arrangement of Russian female speakers, arrangement of vowels /i/ and /u/, /i/ and /e/, /e/ and /a/, /a/ and /o/ are clearly distinguished from each other, but /o/ and /u/ are very close to each other. Second, Russian vowels of Korean Russian learners have a following structure: high vowel /u/ > /i/, mid vowel /o/ > /e/ and a low vowel /a/ according to tongue height, and front vowel /i/ > /e/, back vowel /a/ > /u/ > /o/ according to the front and back of the tongue. And when we look at the formant distribution of Korean Russian learners, vowel /i/ and /e/ are strong front vowel, and vowel /o/ is strongest back vowel among back vowels /a/, /o/, /u/. When we look at the formant arrangement, arrangement of vowels /i/ and /u/, /i/ and /e/, /e/ and /a/, /a/ and /o/ are clearly distinguished from each other, but /o/ and /u/ are very close to each other. Third, comparing formant distribution and arrangement of Russian vowels of Korean Russian learners with Russian female speakers, Korean Russian learners pronounce lower and more ahead than Russian female speakers. And the biggest difference between the two groups is vowels /i/, /e/, /u/. The vowel /i/ pronounced by Korean Russian learners is pronounced at a much lower and more front position than that pronounced by Russian female speakers. And the vowel /u/ pronounced by Korean Russian learners is pronounced at a lower and front position than that of Russian female speakers. And the vowel /e/ pronounced by Korean Russian learners does not make a big difference with Russian female speakers at the height of tongue, but it is pronounced at the more front position. At the height of the tongue and at the front and back position, the sound with the least difference between the two groups is /o/. Fourth, the comparison of the Korean pronunciation of Korean female speakers with the Russian pronunciation of Korean Russian learners revealed that the distribution and arrangement of the two groups is very similar. In F1 of the two groups, /i/, /e/, /o/, and /u/ are similar, and only the vowel /a/ is different from each other. In F2, the vowels /e/, /a/, /o/, and /u/ are similar, and the vowels /i/ is slightly different. Fifth, in order to overcome the pronunciation error, it is suggested to proceed in two steps. First, the formant distribution chart and the formant layout of the collection of Korean Russian learners and Russian female speakers are presented visually to explain how the acoustic characteristics of Korean Russian learners and Russian native speakers differ. Then, it is suggested to learn pronunciations that are acoustically similar to each other in the pronunciation of the two groups, and then to overcome the pronunciation errors naturally by having them learn heterogeneous and difficult pronunciations later.
