국문 초록

2009년 엠넷(Mnet)의 <슈퍼스타K> 이래로 열기가 시작된 국내 서바이벌 프로그램은 신인 등용문이 되는 ‘오디션’ 소재에서 벗어나 기존 가수의 경연, 밴드, 힙합, 국악, 트로트, 요리, 댄스 등의 다양한 장르에 적용되며 그 인기를 이어왔다. 2019년에 방영한 <프로듀스 X 101>의 투표 조작 사건으로 경쟁 포맷의 프로그램들의 침체기를 맞는가 했지만, 곧이어 2020년에 방영한 TV조선의 <미스터트롯>은 최고시청률 35.7%를 기록하며 새로운 국면을 맞이했다. 사실상 서바이벌 프로그램의 대표 채널이라 여겨지는 엠넷에서도 지속적으로 서바이벌 프로그램을 제작했고, 2021년도에는 올해의 최고의 예능으로 선정된 <스트릿 우먼 파이터>와 대중의 관심을 받지 못하고 종영된 <킹덤: 레전더리 워> 등이 있다. 논란과 화제 속에서 지속되는 서바이벌 프로그램의 방향성 제고를 위해 이 대조되는 두 사례를 연구 대상으로 선정했고, 프로그램의 구성, 방영기간 동안의 시청자 반응 및 팬덤 현상을 비교 분석한다. 선행연구, 소셜미디어 자료, 시청률 및 화제성에 관한 데이터 등을 토대로 연구한 결과, 승자와 패자의 당락이 결정되는 만큼 공정성 인식이 확보되어야 하고 둘째, 소셜미디어의 관리를 통한 팬덤 형성 셋째, 신선한 소재 및 접근 방법의 개선, 마지막으로 공감이 가는 진정성 있는 서사 구조의 전개가 필요함이 드러났다.

영문 초록

The popularity of survival programs in South Korea has been continued, not producing only about ‘audition’ and applying for various genre like singers’ competition, musical band, hip-hop, Korean traditional music, trot, cooking and dance since the fever of from the channel Mnet has been started. In 2019, it seems that the program with ‘competition’ format would encounter stagnation because of the vote fixing scandal from , but of TV Chosun recorded the highest viewing at 35.7% which led to take a new turn. Actually, so called, the representative of survival TV program, Mnet also produced those programs constantly. In 2021, there are which has been chosen as the best entertainment program of the year, and which finished without the massive popularity. To suggest for the direction of survival TV program through the situation of lasting controversy and topicality, these two contrary programs were chosen for the comparison study about the format of programs, the viewers response and fandom phenomenon during the broadcasting period. The result from studying based on a preceding research, the data of several social media, and the data about television ratings and topicality is that firstly ensuring fairness is needed as there become winners and losers through the judgement. Second, it is necessary that forming a fandom from the strict and creative management of social media. Third, the way to develop the story has to be improved with unconventional subjects. Lastly, the formation of the narrative should be sympathetic as well as trustworthy.
