국문 초록

이 논문은 2019년부터 전 세계 최고 남녀 아이돌 그룹으로 인정받아 온 BTS와 블랙핑크의 노랫말 속 사랑의 의미를 살펴보았다. BTS의 ‘나’에 대한 사랑과 블랙핑크의 ‘너’의 대한 사랑은 매우 달라보이지만, 이들은 결국 타자가 없는 자기유폐적인 사랑이라는 점에서 공통적이다. 블랙핑크는 데뷔 초부터 ‘불’ 같은 사랑을 강조하면서 그 사랑이 파국적인 것을 예감했다. 이후 사랑의 파국이나 죽음은 두려운 것이 아니라 오히려 사랑의 강렬함과 영원성 그리고 진정성을 보증해주는 반대급부라는 인식을 보여준다. 더 나아가 사랑을 자신의 존재 의미가 걸려있는 것으로 인식하고 있다. 실존주의 철학자 카뮈가 시지프스의 부조리를 묘사한 것처럼, 블랙핑크는 결국 사랑이 파국이 될 것을 알면서도 사랑의 고통만이 유일한 삶의 의미이기 때문에 이를 견디는 것이 의미가 있다고 노래하는 것이다. 그러나 아직 블랙핑크는 노랫말 속에서 나와 다른 타자로서의 ‘너’에 대한 고민은 녹아있지 않다. ‘그는 왜 나와 다를까, 이러한 다름을 어떻게 받아들여야 하는가’라는 타자에 대한 고민과 그와 경험을 공유해가면서 나와 너를 변화시키려는 노력은 아직 나타나지 않는 것이다. BTS도 처음에는 타자의 타자성을 인식하지 않고, 고민 없이 달리는 행위를 통해 재귀적으로 ‘나는 나’라고 주장했다. 그러나 이후 ‘타자’인 팬들과의 관계 속에서 ‘나’를 사랑하는 방법에 대해서 고민하기 시작한다. BTS는 ‘나는 내가 누구인지, 무엇을 원하는지 알고 있으며, 나는 내가 할 일을 하’며, 다양한 모습들은 모두 ‘나’라는 재귀적인 자기규정을 바탕으로 그러한 고민의 중지를 선언했다. 최근 앨범에서는 타자의 문제와 관련하여, 자신들을 향해 환호하는 팬들이 갖는 내면의 슬픔을 접한 후 자신들의 동일성이 무너지는 경험을 서술한다. 이는 자신의 세계에 균열을 내는 타자와의 조우와 그것을 통한 타자(팬)에 대한 사랑의 심화를 보여주었다는 점에서 이전보다 발전된 인식을 보여준다. 이렇게 이 논문은 블랙핑크와 BTS 노랫말에 나타난 사랑의 의미변화 과정을 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 이 두 그룹이 자신들의 노랫말을 통해 사랑에 대한 사유를 전개해나가고 있고 이것이 세계인들이 공감할 수 있는 보편적인 지점이 있다는 것을 드러냈다. ‘나’와 ‘너’를 사랑하는 것은 결국 사랑의 의미에 대한 성찰, ‘나’의 존재와 타자와의 관계에 대한 성찰과 분리될 수 없으며, 자기만의 세계에 갇혀서는 의미 있는 ‘관계맺음’이 어렵다는 사실을 두 그룹의 노래는 보여주고 있다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the meaning of love in the lyrics of BTS and BLACKPINK, which have been recognized as the world’s best male and female idol groups since 2019. BTS’s love for “me” and BLACKPINK’s love for “you” seem very different, but they are common in that they are ultimately self-contained love without others. BLACKPINK emphasized love like “fire” from the debut, implicating that this love would be catastrophic. Since then, they show the perception that the catastrophe or death is not fearsome, but rather guarantees the intensity, eternity, and sincerity of love. Furthermore, they recognize love as the meaning of their existence. Just as Camus, an existentialist philosopher, describes Sisyphus’s absurdity, BLACKPINK sings that it is meaningful to endure the pain of love because it is the only meaning of life, even though they know that love will eventually be catastrophe. However, BLACKPINK’ does not consider “you” as another human being in the lyrics of the song. Questions like why is they different from me, how can I accept this difference, and efforts to change us by sharing experiences have not yet emerged. At first, BTS also argues that “I am me” recursively through the act of running without recognizing the other’s otherness. However, they begin to think about how to love “me” in their relationship with fans who are the other. BTS declares the suspension of such concerns based on its recursive self-regulation, “I know who I am and what I want, I do what I need to do,” and various aspects are all “me.” In relation to the problem of others, the recent album describes the experience of their identity collapsing after encountering the inner sadness of fans cheering for them. This shows a more advanced perception than before in that it showed the encounter of the other who cracks their world and the deepening love for the other (fan) through it. In this way, this paper analyzed the process of changing meaning of love in the lyrics of BLACKPINK and BTS. These two groups are developing their thoughts on love through their songs, and it has been revealed that there is a universal point that people around the world can sympathize with. The songs of the two groups show that loving “me” and “you” cannot be separated from reflection on the meaning of love, reflection on the existence of “me” and the relationship with others, and that meaningful “relationship” is difficult when someone is trapped in thier own world.
