국문 초록

본 연구는 수학과와 사회과의 연계를 위한 기초 자료로서, 두 교과의 교과서를 분석하여 통계 그래프 관련 교육내용을 비교하였다. 첫째로, 교과서에 나타난 통계 그래프의 종류, 학년별 제시된 시기, 그래프 학습 순서를 비교하고, 둘째로, 자료의 수집의 측면에서 교과서의 그래프가 설정한 상황이나 제목을 분석하였다. 셋째로, 그래프의 표현 측면에서 그래프 설정, 그래프 그리는 방법을 비교하고, 넷째로, 그래프의 해석 측면에서 그래프를 해석 방법 및 활용 방법을 비교하였다. 비교 분석 과정에서 나타난 수학과와 사회과의 통계 그래프 학습에 대한 시사점 및 난점들을 제시하였다. 수학과 통계 그래프 교육과 관련한 제언으로서, 사회 현상 및 문제를 다루는 그래프에서 수치적 비교만이 아니라 사회 현상의 원인과 영향을 생각하는 의사 결정하는 활동이 필요하며, 학생의 비판적 인식과 수학적 정서와 연결 방안이 모색되어야 함을 밝혔다. 수학과와 사회과는 연계의 측면에서 그래프 관련 용어, 수집 자료에 따른 그래프 설정, 그래프의 표현 방법에 대하여 서로 연계할 수 있는 구체적인 방안이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The study was to compare contents and activities concerning statistical graphs of textbooksin elementary school mathematics and social studies. For this purpose, this study wasperformed in five terms ; i.e. analyzing (ⅰ) types of graphs, graphs suggested by each gradeand order of graphic activities, (ⅱ) collected data, topics and situations surrounding graphs,(ⅲ) representation of graphs, the graphs selecting and methods of graph drawing, (ⅳ)interpretation of graphs, ways of interpreting and applying graphs, (ⅴ) discussing theproblems of graphs learning in school mathematics and social studies and the implications foreach subject. On the basis of results of this study, the directions of graphs taught inmathematics can be proposed as follows ; First, in learning social phenomena and problemsrelated to graphs, activities which give students opportunity for thinking the causes andeffects of those beyond numerical comparisons need to be provided. Second, the contentsconcerning graphs teaching, i.e. graph related terms, types of graphs and method of graphsdrawing should be constructed connecting with social studies. Third, activities in whichstudents can recognize the graph itself critically are necessary. Fourth, learning graphs inmathematics should be linked with mathematical emotion.
