통합형 사회과교육의 관점에서 본 대입논술문제 분석

국문 초록

21세기는 통합의 시대이다. 학문의 통합, 인종의 통합, 상품의 통합 등 다양한 영역에서 통합은 시대적 흐름이 되었다. 세계화는 이러한 흐름을 가속화시킬 것이다. 하지만 우리의 고등학교 교육은 이러한 시대적 흐름을 따라가지 못하고 있다. 특히 통합교육으로 가야 할 사회과교육에서 오히려 분과 학문 영역의 벽을 높이고 있다. 분과형 사회과교육은 사회에 대한 종합적 이해를 곤란하게 할 뿐만 아니라, 사회과교육의 목표인 민주시민양성에도 큰 장애를 초래한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 심각한 문제를 해결할 실마리를 찾기 위해 대입논술문제를 통합형 사회과교육의 관점에서 분석했다. 그 결과 통합의 정도 차원에서는 간·탈학문적 문항이 50%, 통합의 방법 차원에서는 개념·주제 중심 문항이 63%, 통합의 범위 차원에서는 ‘통합형적’ 문항이 53%를 차지했다. ‘융합형’ 인재를 선발하려고 도입한 통합논술은 그 도입 취지에 맡게 실시되고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 고등학교 통합형 사회과교육에 시사하는 바가 컸다. ‘간·탈학문적’이고, ‘개념ㆍ주제 중심적’이며, ‘통합형적’인 특징을 가진 대입통합논술은 고등학교 통합형 사회과교육의 방향을 제시하고 있다. 즉, 학문의 벽을 낮추고 다양한 학문 영역을 결합시켜나갈 것을 요청하고 있다.

영문 초록

This paper analyzes the entrance essay test of major three universities in Korea from the perspective of integrated type of education. Portions of content integration type constituted 75% for the Seoul National University(SNU), 100% for the Yonsei University(YU), 54% for the Korea University(KU), with an overall average of 75%. The portions based on the content organization are as follows: 1) questions according to the concept and theme-centered integration constituted 50% for the SNU, 100% for YU, 38% for KU, with an overall average of 63%; 2) As for questions colored by issue and problem-centered integration type were 25% for SNU, 0% for YU, 15% for KU, with an average of 13%; 3) interestingly enough, there were no strand-centered questions. In addition, the statistics by Fogarty s classification are as follows: 1) fragmented questions were 25% for SNU, 0% for YU, 46% for KU, with an average of 25%; 2) the shared question (two studies inter-sectoral integration) constituted 0% for SNU, 36% for YU, 23% for KU, with an average of 22%; 3) integrated questions (more than three studies inter-sectoral integration) were 75 % for SNU, 64 % for YU, 31% for KU, with an average of 53%. The results show that the essay test varied in the levels of integration. The exams included 75% of integrated questions by the criterion of content integration, 63% by the concept and theme-centered one, and 53% by the Forgary s integrated style. The Essay Test for University Entrance suggests the direction of an integrated type of education. Integrated type of education should be interdisciplinary .
