국문 초록

교수(teaching)의 질적 향상, 특히 교수자의 역량을 개발하기 위한 다양한 방안들이 모색되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 교수자의 성찰을 통한 교수 효과 향상의 일환으로서 티칭 스타일 진단을 제안하였다. 이를 위해 해외에서 사용되고 있는 Grasha(1996)의 티칭 스타일 진단 도구를 번역, 도입한 후 타당도 및 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 국내 대학 교원 167명을 대상으로 진단을 실시, 요인분석을 함으로서 40개의 진단 문항 가운데 최종적으로 총 33개의 진단 문항을 확정지었으며, 동시에 진단 결과를 기술적으로 분석하여 대학 교원의 티칭 스타일 현황을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 티칭 스타일 진단을 도입, 실시한 과정 및 진단에 참여한 교원의 티칭 스타일 진단 결과를 공유하고, 나아가 티칭 스타일 진단이 교수(teaching)의 질적 제고에 어떠한 시사점을 주는지 논의하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

A variety of teaching methods have been investigated in order to improve the quality of teaching practice, since teaching effectiveness has become a key issue in higher education. This study suggested teaching style diagnosis as a tool to promote self-reflection, which will eventually facilitate the improvement of teaching practice. After literature review, the teaching style diagnosis developed by Anthony Grasha (1996) were translated into Korean, and then the validity and reliability were analyzed. Participants were 167 faculty from multiple universities in Korea. Based on the results of the factor analysis, 33 out of original 40 items were finalized as a teaching style diagnosis. Descriptive analysis of the teaching styles of the participants were also examined. This study illustrated the process and outcome of the development as well as validation of the teaching style diagnosis, and also discussed the practical implications of the teaching style diagnosis as a self-reflection tool.
