우울감 발달궤적이 독거노인의 노화에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 노년의 삶을 예측하는데 중요한 요인으로 우울감의 변화가 65세 이상 독거노인의 노화에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 한국고령화연구패널 5-7차년도 자료를 활용하여 우울감 발달궤적을 잠재성장모형으로 분석하여 독거노인의 신체적 노화와 사회적 노화를 설명하였다. 분석결과와 논의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상자인 독거노인의 우울감은 3차년도 간 흐름에 따라 변화의 차이는 있지만 지속적으로 감소하는 추세로 나타났다. 둘째, 독거노인의 우울감 초기의 수준은 이후의 변화보다 사회적 노화에 미치는 영향요인으로 작용하고 있다. 셋째, 독거노인의 우울감 발달궤적은 신체적 노화를 예측하는 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 독거노인에 대한 개입의 필요성과 우울감 감소에 주목하여 노인복지 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to examine the effect of changes in depression on the aging of the elderly aged 65 or older as an important factor in predicting the life of old age. Using data from the 5th to 7th years of the KLoSa, the developmental trajectory of depression was analyzed as a potential growth model to explain the physical aging and social aging of the elderly living alone. The analysis results and discussions are as follows. First, the depression of the elderly living alone, the subject of the study, showed a continuous decreasing trend, although there were differences in changes over the course of the third year. Second, the early level of depression in the elderly living alone is acting as an influencing factor on social aging rather than subsequent changes. Third, the development trajectory of depression in the elderly living alone is acting as a predictor of physical aging. Based on the results of this study, practical implications for welfare for the elderly were presented by paying attention to the necessity of intervention and depression for the elderly living alone.
