국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 의미연결망 분석과 토픽모델링을 가계부채 연구에 도입하여 한국 사회의가계부채 관련 담론 동향 및 핵심 이슈를 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 사회 담론을 형성하는데중요한 역할을 하는 언론 보도와 학계 동향을 대표하는 학술지 연구를 함께 살펴보고 비교하였다. 연구 결과를 종합하면, 언론기사의 주요 토픽은 “물가 및 환율”, “가계부채와 자산”, “고용과 일자리”, “정치와 정책”, “부동산”으로 분류되었다. 학술논문의 주요 토픽은 “가구와 자산”, “신용 및정부 정책”, “재무와 지출”, “대출, 연체와 주택”, “부동산”으로 구분되었다. 토픽을 주제별로 분류하여 “자산과 재무상태”애 해당하는 문서만을 대상으로 추가 분석을 실시했을 때 언론의 경우카드 연체, 저축, 자영업자 대출 문제 등에 집중하고 있으나, 학술 논문의 경우 계층, 연령, 교육, 위험, 자영업자 등 가계부채에 영향을 미치는 개인적 요인에 대한 관심과 금리, 주택 가격 등 사회적맥락과 제도적 요인이 공존하고 있다. 이 연구는 가계부채 관련한 담론 추세의 분석을 통해 사회복지학 연구가 다루는 주제의 확장 가능성과 필요성을 제기하였다. 그리고, 이 연구는 가계부채 연구에 의미 연결망 분석과 토픽모델링 방법을 처음으로 적용하여 한국 사회의 가계부채 관련 담론동향 및 핵심 이슈를 파악하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 언론 보도나 연구 동향만을 분석한기존 연구와 달리 사회 담론을 형성하는데 큰 역할을 하는 언론 보도와 학술지 연구 동향을 함께파악하여 언론이 주목하는 이슈와 연구자집단이 주목하는 이슈가 무엇인지를 비교하고, 학술 부문이 더 탐색할 수 있는 주제가 무엇인지 살펴보았다는 점에서도 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to understand the trend of public discourse and key issues related to household debt using semantic network analysis and topic modeling. We analyzed media and academic articles that play an important role in shaping public discourse. In summary, the main topics of the press articles were classified into “price and exchange rate”, “household debt and assets”, “employment and jobs”, “politics and policy”, and “real estate”. The main topics of the academic paper were classified into “Furniture and Assets”, “Credit and Government Policy”, “Finance and Expenditure”, “Loan, Delinquency and Housing”, and “Real Estate”. When topics were categorized by subject and further analysis was conducted on only documents that correspond to “assets and financial status,” the media focuses on card delinquency, savings, and loans to self-employed people. But academic papers focuses both the personal factors such as class, age, education, risk, self-employed persons and the social context and institutional factors such as interest rates and housing prices. This study raised the possibility and necessity of expanding the topics covered by social welfare studies through the analysis of discourse trends related to household debt. In addition, this study is the first to apply the semantic network analysis and topic modeling method to household debt research to identify trends and key issues related to household debt in Korean society. In addition, unlike previous studies that only focused media or research trends, it compares the issues that the media focuses on and the issues that the research group is paying attention to that play a major role in forming a social discourse. Implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
