국문 초록

본 연구는 어머니의 학습관여, 가정문해환경, 유아의 자기주도학습능력과 문해능력 간의 구조적 관계를 분석함으로써 취학을 앞둔 유아의 문해능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 변인을 확인하고자 수행되었다. 서울, 경기, 인천에 위치한 유치원 총 9곳에 재원 중인 만 5세 학급의 유아 236명(남아 114명, 여아 122명)과 그 어머니, 그리고 담당교사 17명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하고, SPSS 21.0, AMOS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 유아의 문해능력은 어머니의 학습관여, 가정문해환경, 유아의 자기주도학습능력과 모두 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 어머니의 학습관여와 유아의 자기주도학습능력은 유아의 문해능력에 직접적 영향을 미쳤고, 가정문해환경은 간접적 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 어머니의 학습관여가 가정문해환경과 유아의 자기주도학습능력, 문해능력에 모두 영향을 미치는 중요 변인이고, 유아의 자기주도학습능력도 문해능력을 설명함을 보여주며, 이 시기에 문해능력 향상에 다양한 개입이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to identify variables that can improve the literacy of children’s who are about to go to school by analyzing the structural relationship between literacy ability of 5-year-old children’s and related variables such as mother s learning involvement, home literacy environment and children’s self-directed learning ability. The data were collected for 236 children’s(114 boys and 122 girls) and their mothers and 17 teachers in charge of the 5-year-old class who are currently enrolled in nine kindergartens in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Incheon. Data analysis used the SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. As a result first, First, children’s literacy ability showed positive correlation with mother s involvement in learning, the home literacy environment, and their own self-directed learning ability. Second, mother s involvement in learning and the children s self-directed learning ability directly affected the children s literacy ability. But the home literacy environment had an indirect effect. That is, mother s involvement in learning affects home literacy environment, children s self-directed learning ability and literacy ability. Self-directed learning ability of children s also explains their literacy ability.
