생태환경문제와 교회학교 어린이 신앙교육의 방향

국문 초록

오늘날 인간 삶의 실존적 터전인 지구의 생태문제는 현재는 물론 미래 인류의 생존을 위협하는 주요 사안이자 심각한 해결 과제가 되고 있다. 기독교적 측면에서 본다면, 인간에 의해 야기된 생태환경의 총체적 문제는 곧 하나님께서 질서 있게 창조하신 자연세계의 혼돈이자 위기이기도 하다. 그러므로 지금의 위기적 현실에서 하나님의 창조세계로서의 생태환경을 누구보다 앞장서서 잘 보존하고 관리해야 할 교회와 기독교인의 책임 또한 크다. 교회는 먼저 생태환경 문제를 기독교 신앙공동체의 한 현실적 관심사로 인지하고, 지속적이며 체계적으로 이에 대한 교육을 심화 및 확장시켜 나가야 한다. 교회에서 주로 주일학교 연령에 해당되는 어린이들은 주변 환경에 대한 호기심과 관심이 가장 왕성한 시기로서 무엇이든지 알고 싶어 하며 이와 함께 논리적 사고와 인성 및 사회성이 빠르게 형성된다. 또한 주로 모방, 체험적 경험, 활동을 통하여 기독교적 삶이 무언인지 학습하면서 신앙의 기초를 세워가는 시기이기도 하다. 따라서 교회는 어린이 신앙교육에서부터 하나님의 창조세계에 대한 청지기적 사명을 잘 감당하기 위한 생태환경교육을 보다 강조하여야 할 필요성이 있다. 아울러 생태환경과 관련된 신앙교육은 어린이가 올바른 기독교 세계관에 기초하여 자신을 둘러싼 모든 환경들을 성찰하고 체험하도록 하는 통전적이며 전인적인 신앙교육이어야 한다. 본 논고에서는 직면한 생태환경의 위기를 인지하면서, 이러한 위기의 근원을 생태환경에 대한 인간 자신의 부적절한 인식과 태도에 있다고 보고, 해결과제로서 적절한 생태환경교육의 필요성을 강조하였다. 이에 먼저 2장에서는 생태환경의 위기와 생태주의적 세계관 및 생태환경교육의 문제를 다루었다. 3장에서는 기독교적 관점에서 생태환경의 문제와 어린이 신앙교육에서의 연계성을 살펴보았다. 아울러 4장에서는 교회학교 어린이의 신앙교육에서 효과적이고 효율적인 생태환경교육의 구현을 위하여 필요한 고려사항들은 무엇인지 크게 3가지를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest several possible directions in developing childhood ecological environmental education within the Church from a Christian point of view. The ecological problems of our planet is a serious issue that currently affects humans and will continue to affect mankind for the foreseeable future. From the Christian perspective, the overall problem of the environment is a crisis of the natural world that God has created; therefore, the Church should seek to deepen and to expand ecological environmental education, since as the current the ecological crisis is a realistic and serious concern of the Christian community. For Christians, it is a reasonable that the Church must do its part in maintaining the world that God has created. Ecological environmental education is highly appropriate for children because while growing up, they undergo cognitive development as their curiosity and interests with their surroundings unfold. Because personality and sociability are also rapidly developing during childhood, it is a formative period during which children build their Christian faith through imitation, experimental experiences, and activities. When taking these points into account, education regarding stewardship to preserve or to maintain God’s creations should be provided in church. This paper defines inappropriate human perceptions and attitudes regarding the underlying cause of the current environmental crisis. Based on this premise, chapter two deals with the crisis of the ecological systems and the importance of ecological environmental education grounded in the ecological worldview. Chapter three examines the ecological environment from the perspective of creation spirituality and the necessity of developing ecological environmental education for children in church. Chapter four presents the necessary considerations for an effective and efficient implementation of ecological environmental education among children in the Christian community.
